company A extends an offer, all of this is contingent on passing a background check. i passed the initial pre-screen background check but, the other part of the check doesn't start until after the set start date (public trust position). i'm not sure if i can pass a public trust check (i'm no angel). company A wants me to put in my notice to my current employer. i'm anxious though, what happens if i put in notice to current employer and for whatever reason i'm unable to pass the public trust check? it's great that i have options but, i could easily be out of job in no time.
