to the actual problem root problems of: -student to teacher ratios -curriculum being frequently behind the curve
There's the Gifted Students program which we've gotten the ball rolling on already...but in our school system they don't actively do anything in Gifted Student services until 2nd grade. So we have another year (1st grade) of her likely not being challenged and getting further entrenched into the "Do just enough, we're all equal" mentality of the public school system here.
So...for white kids....that's ok...because they're the majority in society and yes, they'll generally stay on track and likely get AHEAD of the curve in short order..because society is geared towards their success.
For minority kids (Black especially)..our kids immediately have hurdles to their progress from day 1.
