So far today I have received a total of 10 calls, plus a text message. I never answer them, but today I've answered each one.
Last week at a policy conference, a fellow attendee kept interrupting the FCC expert to complain about the TCPA's fine structure. Apparently there's a $500 fine consumers can collect per unsolicited call. This guy was complaining about his company marketing efforts being hindered by, "all those jobless people in Florida, opening new phone lines in an effort to take more calls, then getting the fine payments directly or hopping on class actions and living in luxury." I received a robocall during the time it took him to complain that he can't make robo calls.
