Which is why they need to contextualize it so that it’s part of a bigger narrative. You mentioned that everyone knows he’s a giant racist ... a good enough amount of people don’t. Either willingly or unwillingly. Most folks need to be sold narratives not data points Trump sells narratives Brown people are bad The media is the enemy of the people I’m doing great things You can’t properly refute those with data points alone You need to weave a counter narrative Trump enflames racists who in turn attack the media .... here are explicit threats, here’s a bombing, etc ... and because of that it doesn’t allow us to properly cover his lies for fear of death.
