"Why is "bootstrap" considered a conservative tenet? "
Don't ask why because I can't answer the question but, ended up watching some videos of Candace Owen talking which then led to a curiosity about black conservatives.
Pretty much all of what I have heard so far is a constant reference to the concept of pulling yourself up by the bootstraps, a belief that hard work is the answer, liberalism is poison to black empowerment.
Alright, so, I keep hearing people make a philosophical connection to conservatism and hard work.
Hard working Americans are conservative. It's the American way. I did it, my dad did it and my dad's dad did it because we did not rely on government to help us out.
Liberals only want a hand out. Liberals only want big fat government and they want everybody complacent and sucking on that teat.
So, like, how is the perception now that "hard work" and "hardworking american" = conservative / conservative = "hard work" and "hard working american"?
I look at my circle of folks who work and work hard. Some are highly paid and sacrificed everything to get there. Some are working poor and grind it out every damn day. And yet, I am to believe that because these folks are liberal they do not believe in hard work?
If I think about it, it all sounds like some pimp/ho shit - which is to say that its all a perspective that was created and maintained to be in benefit of those who hold power.
