Which elite status programs, for travel, are you a member of / would you recommend?

I've hustled, finessed and maintained elite memberships for Hertz (free upgrades and liability) Starwood Hotels (Suite upgrades for the cost of the cheapest room, and 4:00 checkout) and Amtrak (Acela Club lounge access and access to all United Club lounges at airports) for years, but have not been able to make it to any worthwhile airline status since USAir was alive.

Any tips or suggestions?
