It was an idea that had a framework setup but I was so caught up in looking toward the finished product with all the bells and whistles and nuances instead of fleshing out the foundation and building all the little extras after launch.
That by itself presented a significant challenge but then I wound up dealing with one significant life event after another: attempting to unionize at work, my wife getting pregnant with our second child experiencing a major scare during that time, having our son, selling our home and purchasing a new one, moving somewhere that created an hour to an hour and a half commute, my wife quitting her job and starting a business, becoming the sole “guaranteed” bread winner and having to up the overtime hours on top of said commute, and various personal and familial challenges.
It was/is an awful lot to add to an already stacked plate. I had no prior web development experience and was starting from scratch in a very real way.
I may get back to it one day and I may not. I’ll never know if it had any real potential or not and if it did, I very well may have missed my window. I will say that the significant interest/intrigue expressed by a small handful of people whose objective opinions on the subject I consider to be quitter valid was a good sign. Whether or not I had what it took to execute that vision was another story and as of now, the answer is no. I absolutely did not have what it took to execute that vision.
