purefix/state/6ku: damn-near identical set ups and they all come with entry level tires (usually kenda). i chose 6ku because of their partnership with aventon and the options available for parts. the real differences you'll need to look for (and decide on) are:
• steel vs carbon fiber vs aluminum (difference in weight, strength, durability, torque) • road vs track (difference in fit/stance)
what i did:
i started with a 6ku frame (steel) and made upgrades. i replaced the stock stem & riser bar with a specialized stem, svmono bullhorns, bar-end brake calipers, and lizard-skin grips (not a fan of tape). also replaced the standard bottom bracket with one made of forged steel. upgraded from kenda tires to gatorskins (haven't had a flat tire from road debris since). added a timbuk2 saddlebag and copped a deployable fender from http://www.musguard.com/ and i was ready to roll.
i'm currently building my next track bike (carbon alloy, details coming soon), and recently made a come up on frame, wheel set, and tires. taking my time on this set up, but it should be ready to hit the streets next spring.
*btw: what were the details regarding the theft of your bike and what lock (and the lock-up style) were you using?
