As someone said above, she often seems to be taking various soul cues (or impersonations) on some of her songs. Electric Lady had a Stevie record, a young Michael record, an old Michael record, a Parliamnet record and so on. Drawing so many inspirations, it becomes hard to say exactly what her "voice" is...but it does set her apart from the overly weaved Beyonce clones that flood the female R&B market. Not sure what her next project is looking like, but I would like to see her work with Miguel more, they seem to have good chemistry and I think he could help craft a sound that fits her.
