in recent NFL drafts we've heard players X and Y being described as "lockdown" corners. It seems odd, since there really isn't a true lockdown corner in the NFL (e.g. Champ Bailey being somewhat exposed last year).
was there ever such a thing as a lockdown corner? Was deion even really a lockdown corner? If so, was he so good that everybody elevated the idea of a lockdown corner too high for any other player to achieve?
