we can rise up through the things we do everyday
when we see there's everywhere to pray
we can see there's wheres need special prayers
and actions where we can lend an ear

keep a child from harm

we have the power to make change

torture and death injustice
the lady next door who says that it's just that he's feisty sometimes
wearin' sunglasses to hide her battered and bruised eyes
the child who's been crying inside decades through centuries which lied
to her
and the pain which engraves

who were never allowed to be saved

poets? political disssidents
could i be dead in some corner of the world right now
tortured and bled to death
rather than white, rich and over-fed
had i not been born
how many would i have made room for

human rights violations
injustices continued endlessly

and forge the future
for minorities? are people too
and each one means some
