Basically the distribution was through individuals around the country, who receive their copies from a local supply chain. They paid $3 for them and sold for $7 I think. Issues came with a free CD. The magazine was of a leftist/conscious nature and did a number of early features of artists in that vein (dead prez and the coup come to mind). They didn't have ads which is ultimately why it folded (more a sociology project than a business venture if you ask me), but the distribution always surprised me. I can remember going to activist circles around the country and there would always be a copy of Blu and folks would be bumpin the CD.
