"Selling Ice-cubes in Africa" Wed May-23-07 10:25 AM by Kream
Let's share some stories that you might not read about in the Financial Times, or Fortune or HBR etc etc
Stories that you would discuss over family dinner about how so-so is doing so well by taking an idea, could be small & simple or could be major... and doing so well or not so well at it.
Thus, sharing business ideas post.
---- Mine:
I know of someone who moved to E.Africa, and realized that there is NO-ONE who is selling packaged ice. So he started off renting a small room that fit the ice-making equipment... and really just made ice. Packaged it, and sold it to his initial small cx base of neighborhood cafe's. Within a month, word got out and he had orders from nearly ALL major restaurants & cafe and some hotels. Needless to see, he upgraded his machinery super quick & is relatively speaking, laughing to the bank.
