First of all, Rayo didn’t get robbed , that was a draw in the most literal way possible

Outside of dropping Colbert in the first round , he really didn’t hit him with anything memorable

If you look a Rayos face he was busted up , bloodied , swollen eyes etc , I don’t think it was as clear of a robbery , the crowd was 90% Latino so naturally they were vocal in their displeasure of the outcome

As for Plant , I was really disappointed in his game plan and even more disappointed in Kenny Bayless for allowing it to flourish

His game plan all night was to outpoint David to a win and escape by any means necessary. There were times when Benavidez was imploring him to commit to an exchange instead of the clinch and run game plan. I didn’t see any courage or any initiative on Caleb’s part to actually WIN the fight and take back control once David started catching him in the 4th and 5th rounds with HARD body shots. He basically got on his skates and initiated his clinching game plan .

Also he needs to do something about that weak ass Philly shell defense he uses bc it didn’t help him at all 😂. Benavidez arms tore through that like a wet paper bag.

All build up long we heard Caleb talk about his new found power but all I saw was pitty patt punches that didn’t do any damage .

There were some moments in the 6th round where I thought Benavidez would KO him but Caleb had JUST enough gas ⛽️ to get out of the way 😂 otherwise it was curtains

An early stoppage by Caleb’s former or bc of the head but wouldn’t have surprised me but I had David up 7- 2 (or 3) by then

Call me crazy but I still don’t think he has enough to beat Canelo , I worry about his frame taking body shots from Canelo who can ACTUALLY pop 💥 unlike Plant

But Benavidez said he sparred Beterbiev Bivol GGG and says he had ZERO problems with any of them 🤷🏽‍♂️

Either ways , the 168 division had a lot of exciting storylines and up and comers to challenge Benavidez

I still think he’s better off at 174 though

Can’t wait for Haney Loma
