The Bulls are hoping that the moves they have made will push Lavine to accept the max extension, basically, giving the Bulls a discount.
He already stated he is not accepting a max extension. He wants to be paid, and playing along side Durant at the Olympics, where they have built up a friendship, will make contract talks even more complicated.
I predict he will walk, unless the Bulls offer him a contract at 30% of the salary cap when he becomes a FA....and I don’t see the Bulls doing that.
Also, if he makes an All NBA team, then he would become eligible for a supermax deal.
