He just fucked himself. I am sure he will try to hide behind some kind of alcoholism or substance abuse excuse. We'll see if that saves his job but probably not.

I wonder how this affects the strike zone. They should pull data on his calls vs white and non white players. It’d be a interesting case to tell the story of how racism/bias affects how people interact with the world— maybe even something at a systemic level. There is no such thing as compartmentalization

Well, there was a rumor when Alomar spit on Hirschbeck that Hirshceck called Alomar a dirty Puerto Rican.
So it's not like umpires are some sort of gold standard for humanity; thus this most recent news doesn't surprise me.
