2689741, Let's discuss Harden ≥ Wade
Posted by melmag, Tue Mar-05-19 01:32 AM
Premature? Nahh

the writings on the wall folkx

I've always felt Wade's inflated legacy largely revolves around that one '06 title run, and riding Bron to two more.

Obviously defensive disparity between em is wide as fuck but Beard more than compensates offensively.. as a PG & SG

Harden's also potentially a 2x MVP and 2x runnerup. Wade never been that good.

Sure, players are made in 'offs (advantage: Wade), but Beard's incredible seasonal runs tip the scale overrall imo

fuck a ring, Harden better RIGHT TODAY already
2689742, Harden gonna fold like a fuckin Transformer in a few weeks
Posted by Basaglia, Tue Mar-05-19 01:43 AM
So count me out. He’s a great player, but he done after one stiff punch.
2689744, Oh no doubt!
Posted by melmag, Tue Mar-05-19 01:46 AM

but I cant recall any crazy Wade playoff runs sans Shaq & Bron either
2689747, Nope. n/m

Anyway...no.
2689750, The numbers aren't even close
Posted by Premiere, Tue Mar-05-19 02:34 AM
And literally one ring for Harden, and this is no longer a discussion.

You're right. It'll just take a second for people to acknowledge such... unless the Rockets win a ring and speed it up.
2689836, He's more talented. He's a better scorer. That doesn't add up to better.
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Tue Mar-05-19 04:27 PM
Oh and Harden isn't winning any rings.
2689844, You sure about that?
Posted by bentagain, Tue Mar-05-19 04:49 PM
If you discount Wade's last handful of years and just compare his initial run in MIA

are you sure the numbers aren't close

because they are close even including those numbers

?
2689762, how about lets not...

2689835, Peak for peak, give me Wade for sure
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Tue Mar-05-19 04:27 PM
Got to the line all day, didn't need his J to fall to produce, could handle and distribute, could defend.

Harden is a better scorer with better range. In a lot of other areas he falls short and he is no type of leader. The OP starts from a premise that Wade's legacy is "inflated" and that he "rode LeBron" when he put in work despite his health already declining in the LeBron years. The problem with Wade is that he had a short peak and even still his career is ultimately going to look better than Harden's despite 1) entering the league at 23 and 2) having knee problems from the middle of his career forward. Wade was still stealing games as an old-time fart. Harden still giving them away in his prime. Harden has all the tools to be better, but he hasn't gotten there yet as an all-around player.
2689856, this feels fair to me.

2689857, On one hand Wade was horseshit in between winning a ring &

Bron coming to town.

But on the otherhand Harden nuts all over himself when the going gets tough.

Give me Wade 9 times out of 10.
2689858, Horseshit?
Posted by Ryan M, Tue Mar-05-19 06:41 PM
2009 Dewayne Wade was 3rd in MVP voting.
2689863, advanced stats also support 09 as a career year. great stretch in general
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Tue Mar-05-19 07:19 PM
he has a career high in PER and WS in 09, huge numbers throughout that stretch really. 07 he was hurt, that was the period where he started missing games but then in 09/10/11 he was healthy, missed a handful of games only.
2689869, Horseshit as in his squad didn’t mean anything.
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Tue Mar-05-19 07:55 PM
He was a 2nd tier star and trending to be that until Bron & Bosh came.
2690026, Ran a 4.42 40 and just look at that backpedal!

2689938, I hate how we only measure players in offense

2690005, Wade became all-time block leader for guards day after OP lol

2689971, Is Harden the greatest D'Antoni system player or Nash?
Posted by Castro, Wed Mar-06-19 08:54 PM
I think D'Antoni should get credit for being the force behind the current NBA style of play, and Harden is his greatest player with Nash a strong second. I mean, Kenneth Faried is taking threes LOL.
2690020, Nash used to get sonned by Bibby before D’Antoni recused his career

2690027, I don't think either one was a system player
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Thu Mar-07-19 01:44 PM
Nash was underrated in Dallas and you can go back to where he signed in PHX, I said it was the best FA signing since Shaq and a stellar fit for both team and player. I didn't exactly see the same for Harden but likewise he was already an established stud before D'Antoni and his game only took off since. Over time it's gotten a little cartoonish with the total green light but then again they were missing a lot of key players when that was going on.
2690008, Beard = Lac Riding; D Wade? Hi Siding.
Posted by Binlahab, Thu Mar-07-19 10:44 AM
this isnt a competition.

d wade is maybe in the lower half of the top 10 SG of the last 20 yrs.

on the all time list i dunno if dude is even top 25.

meanwhile...Beard is making a case to be 1 of the best scorers...EVER.

be mad. then...get over it.
2690167, lmao, top 25 SG all time? name 25 better 2 guards
