PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE MAKE THE TRADE PHILLY

https://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2018/12/4/18125608/report-trevor-ariza-available-december-15-trade

2680922, every team could use a trevor ariza right about now...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Tue Dec-04-18 05:15 PM
..the lakers included.

*skatin' the rings of saturn*

..and miles to go before i sleep...
2680925, he's getting bought out. will be back in houston by round 1.
Posted by dula dibiasi, Tue Dec-04-18 05:18 PM
been an open secret in league circles since the day he signed w phoenix.
2680927, You might want to read the article

PHX is looking for a PG in return

He will be traded.

"However, the Suns lost leverage by letting this get out and not quieting the rumors all fall that Ariza would be bought out. If that prevents them from finding a good trade package and they let this drag out until the buyout deadline in March, we could be looking at another transactional he-said, she-said that looms over the season"
2680926, aye, Suns....you need a PG??? Top Ramen Felton for Ariza...DONE!
Posted by Dstl1, Tue Dec-04-18 05:18 PM
.
2681379, well, we’ll, well...I’ll be damn...

2681381, the Lakers?!
Posted by Dr Claw, Sun Dec-09-18 07:54 PM
2681384, hearing some chatter we could be the third team
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Dec-09-18 07:57 PM
.
2681385, who'd be going out for salary purposes on this?
Posted by Dr Claw, Sun Dec-09-18 07:58 PM
OKC probably would be looking for an upgrade somewhere if the Lakers are involved
2681449, that's why I don't see it being us...
Posted by Dstl1, Mon Dec-10-18 11:23 AM
I mean, we could use KCP...but the Suns want a PG...and I don't think Ray Felton is what they have in mind.
2681396, Great addition for the lakers. He defends and shoots 3
Posted by Cenario, Sun Dec-09-18 09:01 PM
Shane battier 2.0
2681450, It's nice to have 2 GMs working for one team... lol

2681574, shout out to james jones.
Posted by dula dibiasi, Tue Dec-11-18 02:24 PM
2681443, KCP is playing better of late (after an abysmal start to the season)
Posted by Vex_id, Mon Dec-10-18 11:02 AM
but flipping KCP for Ariza would be a nice little W for this team and would bolster the defense while providing a perfect corner spot up-3 candidate for Kang kickouts.

edit: KCP has veto power on a trade? how'd he pull that off? Lol. That Rich Paul tho.

-->
2681456, I can tell I've been on OKP a long time
Posted by DeepAztheRoot, Mon Dec-10-18 12:52 PM
First thing I thought of when I saw KCP was KC Player
2681459, yeah. Would be cool to hear from him now
Posted by Dr Claw, Mon Dec-10-18 12:55 PM
that the Chiefs are rippin' it up
2681577, Yes sir
Posted by DeepAztheRoot, Tue Dec-11-18 02:42 PM
plus the discussion on best BBQ was always on point
2681457, That trade veto is built into the CBA if I'm not mistaken
Posted by LA2Philly, Mon Dec-10-18 12:53 PM
A player going back on a one year deal with bird rights gets a trade veto in order to control those bird rights.
2681609, to get that trade veto, you've got to sign a 1 yr deal
Posted by High Society, Tue Dec-11-18 07:55 PM
with team you played for the previous year?

2681578, he can still go. we wouldnt miss him.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Tue Dec-11-18 02:50 PM
2681476, I'm guessing that's the first domino before a BI flip
Posted by Cold Truth, Mon Dec-10-18 02:11 PM
2681582, I hope that's not true.
Posted by Ryan M, Tue Dec-11-18 03:20 PM
Getting Ariza on a one year deal to flip BI eventually would be very dumb.
2681588, Philly rumor; 3 team deal...Philly gets KCP
Posted by bentagain, Tue Dec-11-18 03:29 PM
Havent seen any proposed names on who the LAL give up

But I think BI is a safe assumption...

Kuz and Hart are the only untouchables I see on that roster
2681602, I can't see giving up any of our young guys for basically a half season...
Posted by ThaTruth, Tue Dec-11-18 05:33 PM
of Ariza
2681605, We wouldn't be trading those young guys for Ariza.
Posted by Cold Truth, Tue Dec-11-18 06:14 PM
2681604, Same, but Kuz is eating like crazy in his absence.
Posted by Cold Truth, Tue Dec-11-18 06:12 PM
And BI's value is shaky at best right now. He shows promise, and I'm a big proponent of his, but he hasn't demonstrated real consistency thus far.

He still shows enough promise that someone may by bite on him in a package.

Ariza is a quality vet on both ends, and we may wind up with an in-road to keeping him this summer on the cheap. I wouldn't assume him to be a one-and done necessarily, and I wouldn't cite him as the catalyst for trading BI on his own by any stretch.

But I am increasingly (sadly, in fact) of the belief that BI may not long for this team.

2681618, The management has been very clear with their plan
Posted by LA2Philly, Tue Dec-11-18 09:42 PM
They aren't dealing the core and it's an extra boon because they're all cost controlled...that's what allows the max slot this summer. Ariza is to get another wing defender who can switch positions unlike KCP (who can only do it effectively on 1's and 2', too slight to slide down), doesn't have a bearing on BI. The team wants depth and lots of it.

2681909, ***fingers crossed***
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Sat Dec-15-18 03:30 PM
2681917, Lol, why would we take Wall?
Posted by LA2Philly, Sat Dec-15-18 09:41 PM
Makes zero sense. Worst contract in the league and a high usage, inefficient player.
2681994, ^^^^^ Lol... people just say shit just to be talking.

2681927, I really don't like that trade....
Posted by Dr Claw, Sat Dec-15-18 11:56 PM
Ariza needs to be on a team where he can help, not where he can rot.

Ernie gotta be bottom 3 GMs in all sports
2681912, RE: Ariza might get traded from Phoenix/Other NBA Talk
Posted by cloak323, Sat Dec-15-18 07:52 PM
Did they trade Oubre because they can't afford him next year?
2681942, Yes, see Wall's contract
Posted by bentagain, Sun Dec-16-18 12:39 PM
They have 3 max contracts next year

They moved Oubre because he's up for a contract next year
2681970, Yup, Lonzo is trash alright.
Posted by Ryan M, Sun Dec-16-18 04:30 PM
2681995, Glad you finally came around.

2681997, Well.. yea

2682213, Lakers fans: Was Nance this much of a playmaker on your team?
Posted by Dr Claw, Tue Dec-18-18 10:35 PM
I had no idea that he could actually be a point-forward and occasional 3 point shooter, but that's what I've been seeing from him in the absence of TT.

Didn't want to burn an entire post on this topic.

He just might end up being the best part of that trade, and not for sentimental reasons.
2682215, yes...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Tue Dec-18-18 11:02 PM
..which is why it was tough to watch him leave.

I knew the Lakers were trimming the fat on the roster at the time (cap space, FA flexibility), so casualties were expected.

*skatin' the rings of saturn*

..and miles to go before i sleep...
2682216, No. He was tentative in open space, turned down jumpers
Posted by LA2Philly, Wed Dec-19-18 12:21 AM
Always had the motor and defensive IQ. He's shoring up some of his weaknesses as he gets consistent, no pressure playing time and credit to him; always rooting for him.
