2671512, Mad respect to Manu...
Posted by Marbles, Mon Aug-27-18 02:35 PM

I wonder how all of this will affect Pop's decision to stick around. I think losing his wife had a profound effect on him. I have no clue how it will affect his desire to keep coaching.
2671516, The Euro Don
Posted by Beezo, Mon Aug-27-18 03:10 PM
2671584, Is this an actual nickname?
Posted by KiloMcG, Tue Aug-28-18 07:30 PM
Because he's from Argentina.

Posted by mashpg89, Mon Aug-27-18 09:23 PM
Led Argentina to gold and knocked out the United States Men's Basketball Team for the only time in the past 30 years.

Integral part of 4 championship runs for the Spurs.

Fun to watch and crafty as hell showing all the potential of lefties in the league.

Smacked a fucking bat out of the air.

Un aplauso for the best South American player to ever play in the NBA
2671548, three chips but point taken
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Mon Aug-27-18 11:48 PM
2671570, 03, 05, 07, 14

2671546, Salute
Posted by snacks, Mon Aug-27-18 10:18 PM
People from college days used to say I played like him so he holds a special place for me
2671557, Ill never forget the way he shredded Tayshaun in the 05 Finals
Posted by cgonz00cc, Tue Aug-28-18 09:04 AM
back to back years of harassing the hell out of TMac and Kobe, only to get taken around the block by a white south american

he never lived up to that rep again

Manu deserved the MVP for that Finals
2671581, There's a video on youtube that even says Manu should have been
Posted by B.J.S.301, Tue Aug-28-18 06:03 PM
the 05 finals MVP and its a pretty decent statistical argument.
2671583, i was working a summer construction job that year
Posted by cgonz00cc, Tue Aug-28-18 06:21 PM
and every morning after a game we would smoke cigarettes for 20 minutes before starting work and marvel-at-slash-bitch-about Manu

even after the games we won

i was only 4 or 5 when Larry Bird did his damage, so Jordan, Pierce, Richard fucking Jefferson, Manu, and Lebron have been the 5 most ruthless Piston killers of my lifetime. thats actually considered high praise from me. except for Jefferson...fuck him.
2671566, The Suns Killer
Posted by HecticHavoc, Tue Aug-28-18 10:11 AM
obviously Timmy and Tony dominated us in the playoffs as well... But I distinctly remember Manu destroying my dreams many times in the playoffs.
2671569, One of the most unique players i've ever seen. Respeck
Posted by GOMEZ, Tue Aug-28-18 10:32 AM
It probably took me 5 years to realize how good he actually was, just because I'd never seen someone affect a game the way he did.
2671571, one of my absolute favorite players to watch over the last 15 yrs
Posted by dula dibiasi, Tue Aug-28-18 11:04 AM
singlehandedly made my nba watching experience prolly, idk, 6% more enjoyable.

salute to a real one.
2671576, one of the most well-respected players in league history...
Posted by CyrenYoung, Tue Aug-28-18 01:39 PM
..relentless at both ends of the court, a proven voice in the locker room and on the floor.

he just plays the right way.

wouldn't surprise me at all to see him continue this legendary career as a coach.

*skatin' the rings of saturn*

..and miles to go before i sleep...
2671579, Props
Posted by las raises, Tue Aug-28-18 03:54 PM

2671655, truly an end of an era for the Spurs
Posted by Dr Claw, Thu Aug-30-18 01:00 PM
can't think of that team without him.

Duncan, Manu, Top 5 Tony...
2671659, all the dominoes fell quickly, gotta figure pop will go soon
Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Thu Aug-30-18 02:29 PM
duncan's retirement, the death of pop's wife, parker's departure, the kawhi trade and now this. it all unraveled pretty quickly. helluva run they had.
