Training camp is in full swing. Practices with the Jets coming up.

How we lookin' this season? We got a new QB, a new RB...what else is looking promising?

Let's talk about it this season.

HTTR

2670181, Its been so long. I haven't paid enough attention.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Wed Aug-08-18 11:33 AM
I don't know how to feel about this season. No Kirk. Outside of the trade, no other real drama. I should feel relief. But I am ambivalent. Gruden is still there and I'm not all the way confident in the new defensive coordinator.
2670184, i never feel confident about the upcoming season.
Posted by KiloMcG, Wed Aug-08-18 12:16 PM
and then it's usually goes the way i expect it to, mediocre at best. this year is no different Haha.
2670256, I’ll say this - it’s probably the best roster they’ve had under Snyder
Posted by Tiger Woods, Thu Aug-09-18 07:40 AM
Areas of concern: O-line depth, secondary, and pass catcher health (is Josh Doctson a bust yet?)

But that D-line has potential to be truly special, Derrius Guice is destined to be a star, and I personally think Alex Smith is a little better than Cousins (probably a cooler dude around the locker room at least)

Does more talent equal more wins when your coach is Jay Gruden? Probably not. Ceiling is probably 9-7. Especially when you consider how brutal this schedule is. But I think they’ll be a more competitive team on both sides of the ball and a little more fun to watch. They should be able to move the ball.

2670261, we did ok moving the ball, we just didn't score fucking TDs.
Posted by KiloMcG, Thu Aug-09-18 08:27 AM
Kurt was great at moving the ball up the field, hopefully Smith will make some damn touchdowns happen and not shit the bed in the red zone like the overpaid purple wonder.

but it's still Jay Gruden, so the playcalling will likely be terrible when it matters the most.
2670360, Gruden’s playcallong will be scrutinized more than ever this year
Posted by Tiger Woods, Thu Aug-09-18 04:20 PM
Because he’s finally got a stud running back and a totally capable quarterback. Conversely, pass catchers are iffy. So if there isn’t a lot of play action/bootlegs and he’s still so pass-happy and Guice isn’t getting double digit touches every game he’s gonna hear it.
2670275, Mitch McConnell is probably a cooler dude than Cousins
Posted by smutsboy, Thu Aug-09-18 09:30 AM
I liked him as the QB, but damn is he a tool

>(probably a cooler dude
>around the locker room at least)
2670279, lmao

2670257, Show me year for Gruden
Posted by bnicedh, Thu Aug-09-18 07:57 AM
Has been very 'middle of the road' his first 4 years time to make something happen. We have the personnel on offense to make some noise. Guice, Smith, Reed (healthy) and Doctson (healthy) is pretty good. However, the secondary scares me though.
2670278, Finally a team with okay depth....
Posted by WarriorPoet415, Thu Aug-09-18 09:45 AM
...except the secondary. Really worried about that.

Actually I think our pass catchers are sorta iffy too. I really like Doctson, but he's gotta be consistent. Reed's gotta stay healthy.

Look like Rob Kelley is on thin ice as the starter at tailback. I really hope that Guice is as good as advertised.

Really looking forward to seeing this D-Line in action. Looks like they are deep and talented. Our front 7 should be super solid. Just gotta hold up against the run.
______________________________________________________________________________

"To Each His Reach"

but.....

Fuck aliens.
2670282, Reed won't stay healthy, and Doctson probably won't either.
Posted by KiloMcG, Thu Aug-09-18 09:50 AM
Why all of a sudden would Reed's body finally decide to hold up? It won't. Its really a shame too because he is a fantastic player, but he does nobody any good hurt on the sidelines.

Gruden really likes Fat Rob. Guice and Kelly would be a nice one-two punch.
2670280, surprisingly, i'm kinda want to see the games this year
Posted by Crash Bandacoot, Thu Aug-09-18 09:49 AM
i like guice and smith, not sure about anything else.
2670361, we’re on the same page
Posted by Tiger Woods, Thu Aug-09-18 04:21 PM
I know how this story will end (no playoffs), and yet the amount of talent in the front 7, the running back, and the QB have me pretty enthused as much as I hate to admit
2670402, Guice. Cot damnit.
Posted by KiloMcG, Fri Aug-10-18 09:25 AM
i know he said he's ok. i guess we'll find out what the MRI says.

i didn't see much of any of the game. i can't get hype for pre-season, and i'm not gonna hog the tv for an ultimate meaningless game. i'll save my tv hogging for the regular season so as not to piss everyone off for an extra month before things get started.

but how'd we look? who showed something worth talking about?
2670413, Already has the best cuts and vision of anyone since Alf easily
Posted by Tiger Woods, Fri Aug-10-18 10:19 AM
He’s adamant he’s ok and he walked off fine and was upright sturdy on the sideline. I think he’d play through in a meaningful game.

He looked great in the short work he received.

Hell Byron Marshall did too.

I think team keeps as many as four backs:
Guice
Marshall
Kelley
possibly Perine (though my hunch is they keep three and he’s odd man out)
2670416, Report saying sprained MCL, but he's still getting an MRI
Posted by KiloMcG, Fri Aug-10-18 10:24 AM
2670454, Guice tore his acl. Out for the season.
Posted by KiloMcG, Fri Aug-10-18 02:17 PM
Fucking fuck.

#changethename
2670556, Well there goes the season.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Sun Aug-12-18 10:06 AM
Not to say that they were gonna be good anyway. But damn....hard luck out there.
2670581, Shit sucks. Such a bummer.
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Aug-12-18 08:47 PM
I guess it's fat Rob and Perine again this year....
2670582, They suck yo. Both of them have major flaws.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Sun Aug-12-18 09:43 PM
2670588, No kidding
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Aug-13-18 06:21 AM
2670608, after Guice, I thought Marshall looked best in preseason game 1
Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Aug-13-18 09:38 AM
2670677, It may not matter how good the RBs look if the O-line is injured.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Tue Aug-14-18 11:05 AM
Heard they got banged up pretty good last season. The priority this year should be health along the trenches.
2670591, Fight with the Jets and players dropping like flies with injuries
Posted by B.J.S.301, Mon Aug-13-18 06:59 AM
This bout to be a long season already. I can feel it.

I feel like Gruden's teams are always a little bit talented but unprepared and injured a whole lot. What is up with these injuries? I can't remember the last time Washington had a relatively healthy team.

I've wanted Gruden gone for the longest just because of the lack of discipline this team displays.
2670662, Orlando Scandrick released. Team likes what they see in young DBs.
Posted by KiloMcG, Tue Aug-14-18 09:07 AM
i sure hope they play well, lord knows we need better a better secondary.
2670672, This shows how much I follow the team.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Tue Aug-14-18 10:45 AM
Didn't even know we had Orlando Scandrick. Totally forgot that we didn't resign TP, but didn't really pay enough attention to them last season since I couldn't catch many games.
2670673, haha i'm not sure i knew about Scandrick either.
Posted by KiloMcG, Tue Aug-14-18 10:47 AM
and TP was hot gahbage last year. stone hands, couldn't catch shit. glad to be rid of him.
2670674, I can barely name our receivers outside of Doctson and Crowder.
Posted by WarriorPoet415, Tue Aug-14-18 10:56 AM
I've really let my knowledge go.

Part sick of the owner.
Part sitting out most of last season with my man Kap.
Part who really gives a shit while the current ownership/coaching staff is in place.

But I'm gonna tune in a wee more this year.

"To Each His Reach"

but.....

Fuck aliens.
2670675, last year Crowder was about the only one to do anything worthwhile.
Posted by KiloMcG, Tue Aug-14-18 11:01 AM
2670679, Sounds about right.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Tue Aug-14-18 11:12 AM
I think I tuned into one game and Crowder was the most productive. Him and Vernon Davis.
2670678, I just read a tweet...
Posted by B.J.S.301, Tue Aug-14-18 11:10 AM
Said the reason why he was let go was because they didn't like his outspokeness

https://twitter.com/JPFinlayNBCS/status/1029360181677830144

Hmmm.....*raised eyebrow*
2670716, damn, Scandy...shoulda stayed with the Boys

2670718, lol...why they do Terrelle like that...
Posted by Dstl1, Tue Aug-14-18 07:37 PM
wait til the end.
https://twitter.com/MitchBrownTV3/status/1029375976109735937
2670719, Haha man, he flinched so hard he turned all the way around.
Posted by KiloMcG, Tue Aug-14-18 10:00 PM
Anyway, glad to see him gone. He couldn't catch shit.
2670848, Why would you flinch when you're wearing a helmet?
Posted by The Real, Thu Aug-16-18 01:35 PM

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2670857, Cause you're only a great athlete but oddly shitty receiver. And shook.
Posted by Tiger Woods, Thu Aug-16-18 02:24 PM
2671097, so AP is working out with Washington....
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Aug-20-18 10:34 AM
2671100, so they have AP and Jamaal Charles?
Posted by LAbeathustla, Mon Aug-20-18 11:36 AM
2671101, we don't have Jamaal Charles, do we?
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Aug-20-18 11:39 AM
oh wow, i just looked that up. i didn't must have missed that news.
2671108, and rob kelley? they need to make that work somehow
Posted by LAbeathustla, Mon Aug-20-18 11:51 AM
2671175, yeah
Posted by smutsboy, Mon Aug-20-18 08:58 PM
cut them all and find a better RB
2671186, thats a decent RB by committee ..lol
Posted by LAbeathustla, Tue Aug-21-18 12:42 AM
2671130, he signed
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Aug-20-18 02:08 PM
i guess we'll see what happens.
2671176, he's a body. He may not even make the team
Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Aug-20-18 08:59 PM
2671177, I can't see him making the team.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Mon Aug-20-18 09:01 PM
He needs lots of carries and a running start to be most effective. And he don't catch. Not a Gruden type of back at all.
2671269, as someone who watched first hand last season
Posted by adg87, Wed Aug-22-18 12:10 PM
He's done.
2672462, LOL, which one of y'all showed this to AP?
Posted by adg87, Mon Sep-10-18 11:24 AM
.
2671578, Uhh, so we keepin AP?
Posted by KiloMcG, Tue Aug-28-18 03:15 PM
This shakes up our already shaky backfield a little bit.
2671582, This will be interesting for sure.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Tue Aug-28-18 06:12 PM
I don't see Gruden using him that much though.
2672352, Ok here we go, it's officially Sunday! Let's see what we can do in AZ.

2672396, Week 1: Washington at Arizona
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Sep-09-18 03:35 PM
Well this is off to a wonderful start 🙄
2672404, AP for president!
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Sep-09-18 04:20 PM
Haha
2672405, I hate to overuse the term "beast", but...
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Sep-09-18 04:48 PM
when Jordan Reed is healthy...what in the world are you supposed to do with that?
2672413, We won't have him available for long....

2672466, Pleeease Don't Speak This into Fruition
Posted by RaphaelSoulLee, Mon Sep-10-18 03:17 PM
Bruh staaay on that good ___ "I won't mention it"
2672409, AP still putting in work
Posted by spenzalii, Sun Sep-09-18 05:37 PM
Can't tell if Washington is actually decent (3rd Quarter was pretty sloppy) or Arizona just blows. Bradford certainly sucks...
2672416, Either way, punch me. I don't believe it.
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Sep-09-18 07:10 PM
2672420, *pinch
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Sep-09-18 08:28 PM
2672431, Kirk who?
Posted by Vertigo, Sun Sep-09-18 09:51 PM
it had to be said.

But seriously, while the Skins did Kirk a lil dirty over the years, you can see why they signed Smith. The team looked good--the only question is are they really good or is Ari just that bad...we shall see.
2672443, Health is everything
Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Sep-10-18 06:05 AM
Can Chris Thompson, AP, and Reed ALL stay healthy? Seems far fetched

But man this offense has some potential
2672458, Chris Thompson looked real good.
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Sep-10-18 09:53 AM
The chances of having all of them, or perhaps any of them, throughout the season are pretty slim.
2672461, Bowing down.
Posted by adg87, Mon Sep-10-18 11:22 AM
I truly didn't expect this. Some of the worst Cardinal football since the Sun Devl Stadium era. Chris Thompson did absolute work. Props and salutations.
2672497, It's been a rapid decline
Posted by smutsboy, Mon Sep-10-18 07:09 PM
but at least they drafted a QB
2672572, Alex Smith looks better than Kirk did.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Tue Sep-11-18 11:55 AM
2672578, He's way more decisive, I'll give him that.
Posted by WarriorPoet415, Tue Sep-11-18 12:49 PM
He makes his reads, tries to move the defense with his eyes, and he throws, dumps or runs in short order. Refreshing to see actually.

2672829, Week 2: vs. Indianapolis
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Sep-16-18 12:09 PM
Let's go!
2672879, I don’t know which was worse, Alex Smith or the play calling
Posted by Tiger Woods, Sun Sep-16-18 07:22 PM
Either Alex didn’t want to throw anything deeper than 9 yards, or there weren’t available opportunities. What a trash offensive showing. And, I fear we saw the real Adrian Peterson today. A very winnable game that we never once looked eager to go win.

Proud of Skins fans today tho. Stadium looked half full, and those that were there looked to be half Colts fans. Way to make Snyder earn your money. Stay home until the team is legit. Next week we have the Packers, it’s gonna look like Lambeau East in there. GOOD.
2672880, Yeah whatever it was, the universe is back in balance
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Sep-16-18 07:26 PM
And we're the mediocre team that we are expected to be. Last week was a fluke.
2672888, But I thought AP looked pretty good.
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Sep-16-18 08:43 PM
Chris Thompson definitely did. As our leading receiver 😒
2672922, shocking
Posted by smutsboy, Mon Sep-17-18 09:05 AM
>Alex didn’t want to throw anything deeper than 9 yards,
2672944, Our WR corp is a joke.
Posted by WarriorPoet415, Mon Sep-17-18 10:05 AM
Best dude on that squad after Crowder (who is a dyed in the wool slot dude who couldn't even step up to being a #2 flanker) is rb Chris Thompson.

I'm rooting for Doctson, but he's gotta step up, and so far Richardson has been a pretty trash pickup who can't get separation.

"To Each His Reach"

but.....

2672977, gotta catch the fucking ball, man.
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Sep-17-18 12:29 PM
the RB can do it, but not the WRs? wtf
2672989, The clock is nearing midnight on the “is Josh Doctson a bust?” clock
Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Sep-17-18 02:38 PM
2672991, yep
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Sep-17-18 03:01 PM
2673002, Yeah
Posted by smutsboy, Mon Sep-17-18 08:15 PM
First he was hurt. Then I figured give him a year to acclimate himself.

No excuses this year.
2672996, Washington just signed WR Breshad Perriman
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Sep-17-18 04:12 PM
2673009, And Michael Floyd
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Sep-17-18 09:57 PM
I guess they see what we do with the WRs.
2673653, Week 3: Washington beats Green Bay
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Sep-24-18 10:52 AM
wtf?
2673673, Lights out 1st 1/2; Lights off 2nd 1/2
Posted by spenzalii, Mon Sep-24-18 12:43 PM
Second time they beat Green Bay in the last 3 years? Go figure
2673674, yep
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Sep-24-18 12:45 PM
AP looked real good too.
2675012, Week 5: MNF following the bye. At New Orleans.
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Oct-08-18 01:58 PM
Not sure the early bye will do us any favors as the season goes on. Gonna be a long time with no break.
2675040, Respect to Drew Brees.
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Oct-08-18 08:41 PM
2675109, Respect.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Tue Oct-09-18 08:18 PM
Jay Gruden a mess yo. Every primetime performance is basically a fail. What do they do in the bye week?
2675124, RE: Respect.
Posted by KiloMcG, Wed Oct-10-18 08:57 AM
Everything is a mess. They clearly didn't take that extra time to prepare, good gracious.

My nephew and brother in law were at the game. They got to witness history, but they surely didn't get to watch the skins play. I don't even know what you would call that shit, but it wasn't playing football.
2675123, The team isn't really underperforming though, right?
Posted by smutsboy, Wed Oct-10-18 08:56 AM
It's a .500 club. It is what it is.

(90% Allen & Snyder's fault)
2675125, exactly
Posted by KiloMcG, Wed Oct-10-18 08:59 AM
>It's a .500 club. It is what it is.

>(90% Allen & Snyder's fault)

i'm certainly not surprised. maybe a little disappointed, but we are who we thought we were (c) dennis green paraphrased.
2675127, Every year this team is bound to be 7-9 with the occasional outlier
Posted by The Real, Wed Oct-10-18 09:37 AM

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2675135, 18 years of Snyder teams
Posted by smutsboy, Wed Oct-10-18 10:03 AM
4 were .500

Only 4 were above 8-8 (not counting the tie in 2016).

Never better than 10-6, but frequently significantly worse than .500

The lows are much lower than the highs, as it were.

The only constant is Snyder.
2675163, true, though I do think I'm realizing Cousins is better than Alex Smith
Posted by Tiger Woods, Wed Oct-10-18 01:10 PM
2675165, what an idiotic series of moves by Bruce
Posted by smutsboy, Wed Oct-10-18 01:17 PM
2675174, Yea this is probably who they are. It just felt different because
Posted by Dae021, Wed Oct-10-18 02:31 PM
Everyone else is trash this year.

- The OL doesn't look like they're able to hold up against the blitz. Simple shit and they're blowing line calls in the redzone down by 7 to the team that scores everytime they get the ball. Not good

- AP can still eat, but that dislocated shoulder will become an issue, whether its dropped swing passes to keep good down and distance, or fumbling issues later in the year. It'll show up somewhere.

- Jordan Reed

- Ryan Kerrigan

- Josh Norman

Who are these kats that ALex is throwing to? I'm not even upset with them, because they make some catches they're not supposed to.

- The things that people complain about Alex with were on display on MNF. Middle of the game and middle of the field inaccuracy. Where you can either stay in the game or get lapped, and we saw what happened against one of the most accurate QB's of all time.

- I think we can all agree its time for the Gruden experiment to end. It hasn't worked and I doubt that it will.
2675188, Maybe I'm delusional, but I'm fine with Gruden
Posted by smutsboy, Wed Oct-10-18 03:56 PM
I still wish he was OC not HC.

But IMO, Gruden is fine (not great - but fine) and no one will improve on his job until there's a decent GM in place (so... never?)

2675226, I'm neutral on him.
Posted by KiloMcG, Wed Oct-10-18 07:40 PM
Still think he's out after this season.

I wish we could fire the owner.
2675531, GMSM made Gruden as a head coach.
Posted by B.J.S.301, Sat Oct-13-18 10:35 PM
Gruden is nothing without pretty exceptional talent as with most coaches.

My issue is the lack of discipline the team displays year to year. Gruden's lack of flexibility to the gameplan also hurts the team immensely. His schemes work when there is talent but there isn't always that available.
2675396, random, but needs to be said: McLoughan's drafts were terrible
Posted by Tiger Woods, Fri Oct-12-18 11:49 AM
was just thinking this driving into the office this morning:

2015 top 4 picks
Scherff (good)
Preston Smith (near-bust, 2nd rd edge rusher who never gets home)
Matt Jones (total bust)
Jamison Crowder (good)

2016 top 4 picks
Josh Doctson (total bust)
Sua Cravens (total bust)
Kendall Fuller (good, traded)
Matt Ioannidis (good)

man, in the top four rounds two years in a row, not a single player was special. I know Gruden isn't any great shakes, but two years like that in a row will leave you in a holding pattern too. Some "good" guys, but not one transformative talent in the bunch.

Did the guy deserve to have his name dragged through the mud? Of course not. But he's not the wizard everyone thought he was.
2675398, I'd say above average.
Posted by smutsboy, Fri Oct-12-18 12:23 PM
Scherff is one of the best guards in the league. Or at least was last year.

Crowder is one of the better slot guys in the league.

Kendall Fuller is a good young player at a crucial position and he makes the Alex Smith trade an idiotic decision.

A handful of his late round picks are still in the league. And Kyshoen Jarrett looked ok until his career got ended on an injury.

I don't know what the hell happened with Cravens. He looked good until Bruce Allen started his typical soap opera bullshit.

Doctson appears to be a bust. Matt Jones is replacement level. Preston Smith is replacement level.

I'd say above average drafting. 1-2 good starters per year is fine.

And you have to give him partial credit for 2017. He was fired one month before the draft. There's no way the team didn't use all of his research and strategy.

2675551, McCloughan being competent at his job is something we as fans do not see
Posted by B.J.S.301, Sun Oct-14-18 09:43 AM
for GMs.

He very well could have ended up being like EG down the line. But having somebody competent at their job was the biggest first step Washington could have taken. Unfortunately we took two steps back in firing him.
2675553, Week 6: vs Carolina
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Oct-14-18 12:16 PM
Nice start!!
2675591, Almost gave it away in true Washington fashion.
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Oct-14-18 04:12 PM
Good win, way too fight through for the win. Awesome first half, we gotta sustain that through the second half. O line looked gassed toward the end, they were all over Alex Smith. AP did his thing today. Vernon Davis continued to prove that he was a great pickup and shit, even Doctson caught some balls.

Wouldn't be a skins game without anxiety at the end, though. HTTR.
2675593, I am glad they won but honestly....
Posted by B.J.S.301, Sun Oct-14-18 04:29 PM
This team is not that talented on either side of the ball.

Thank the good lord for AD though. He still be breaking out them good chunk runs. Hope Guice is healthy enough next season to do the same.

Josh Norman did his thing.

2675595, We do have some talent, though.
Posted by KiloMcG, Sun Oct-14-18 04:43 PM
And in the first half everyone was playing well, even with some of our talent out.

Carolina adjusted and got better, Washington didn't adjust to counter. Been a problem forever. Thankfully we pulled through at the end.

2676423, Most counterfeit 4-2 you’ll ever see. Alex Smith is abysmal
Posted by Tiger Woods, Sun Oct-21-18 07:47 PM
Only person worse than Alex Smith today was Jason Garrett.

Can you imagine if they hadn’t gotten Adrian Peterson? We’d be 0-6.

The team would be in the exact same spot with Colt McCoy.

The good? The defense, and front 7 in particular. I really love Allen and Payne man. Hellraisers.

2676446, I’ll say tho, waking up 4-2 feels better than 3-3 would have
Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Oct-22-18 07:26 AM
2676487, i agree with everything you typed.
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Oct-22-18 11:10 AM
2676471, how much cooler would it be if it were Cousins and Guice...
Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Oct-22-18 09:51 AM
...instead of Alex Smith and Adrian Peterson

I mean, not only for this year but projecting in to the future?
You'd have two first round studs on your D-Line on the cheap, and a quarterback and running back who were both drafted here.
2676514, i was over Cousins and ready to move on. Guice would be cool though.
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Oct-22-18 02:08 PM
and no, i'm not saying Alex Smith is better than Cousins, but Kurt wasn't worth 30 mil. he acted like a winning qb and he wasn't.
2676546, overall, you're right...but his long-term upside is far higher than Al's

That turnover in the red zone really sucked.
2677034, Solid win. Defense played great. Offense, not so much.

Investing substantial resources in the D-line is paying dividends. I love watching these three wreak havoc.

The offense is so bad I don’t even feel like talking about it

2677088, I"m still bothered by that TD Smith missed badly on....
Posted by WarriorPoet415, Mon Oct-29-18 10:22 AM
I mean he had a dude running the seam and missed him, BADLY.

Easily 7 more points should have been on the board.

And why is Reed pulling a houdini this season? Him and Smith just have no chemistry?

I'm happy we're 5-2, but damn if it ain't a shaky ass 5-2.

2677089, box score says Reed was targeted a lot
Posted by smutsboy, Mon Oct-29-18 10:23 AM
that's more than I can say for all the previous games.

I don't know why he's not producing - if it's the play design or Smith or what.

2677412, haha
Posted by KiloMcG, Wed Oct-31-18 10:40 AM
just glad we didn't go for a deep threat WR. that would be utterly pointless with a qb that can't get it very far downfield. improving the secondary is a good thing.

i think Alex is gonna be ok. not great, but ok. we really need the passing game to pick up, and badly. we can't sustain wins relying on AP to do all the work.
2677413, as is, the offense just leaves the team too vulnerable
Posted by Tiger Woods, Wed Oct-31-18 10:45 AM
and I think there's a very real chance that vulnerability is exposed this Sunday against the Falcons...unless the defense is really this good.

But if a team gets a large enough lead i feel like that's it
2677942, welp, you were spot on

Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Nov-05-18 09:56 AM
back to business as usual this week. the holes were big enough that my 2 year old could have gotten rushing yards. definitely needed more out of the defense, but we gotta get the offense doing better to keep the D off the field more.

we played like the 8-8 team i predicted at the beginning of the season.
2677984, O-line is cooked, and the season probably is too
Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Nov-05-18 03:01 PM
honestly, it isn't like I enjoyed watching these guys all that much anyway. Maddeningly boring season
2677985, the beginning of the end. Scherff, Lauvao and Richardson done.
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Nov-05-18 03:29 PM
torn pec, torn ACL and an AC joint injury, respectively.

we'll probably squeak out 3 more wins just to make sure we stay squarely mediocre and to mess with the upcoming draft.
2678037, that means even less time for Smith to throw inaccurately downfield
Posted by WarriorPoet415, Tue Nov-06-18 11:09 AM
Good lord, I swear that guy really needs his eyes checked. There's no way some of the passes should even leave his hand.

well, shit. a game we should have won, but that's not even the story. Alex Smith played a pretty terrible game and topped that off with breaking his leg badly. crap.

i'm not sure we're going to see a huge drop off in offensive production moving forward with Colt. it's not like we were runnin' the score up on anyone as it were.

let's see if we can hold onto the NFC East or are we going to shit the bed per usual?
2679427, Mark Sanchez? Really??
Posted by KiloMcG, Mon Nov-19-18 01:30 PM
that's the best we could do?

i know he's just signed as the back-up, but for crying out loud.....
2679432, mark my words: Colt McCoy is going to play well this week
Posted by Tiger Woods, Mon Nov-19-18 01:52 PM
On a short week, with a deep knowledge of the playbook, I actually really like this spot for Colt McCoy. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I think he beats the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.

I think from there it’s gonna be a bumpy ride to 9-7.
2679438, i don't disagree. i've always like Colt.

just because with a back up QB the stakes were so low.

I enjoyed the game from an entertainment perspective. McCoy wasn't QUITE as terrible as I expected.

Though his INTs were truly awful.
2680058, yeah the picks were bad.

I didn't watch the game. I got nothing. I think I stopped caring after week 5 and they were winning.

Them getting Reuben Foster was just a no.

I didn't think this would happen but I miss Kirk.......

Gruden is still who I thought he was though.....Quite possible his coaching was holding Kirk back a bit. Too much passing. If Kirk had the same run game, team possibly would have had a better record in the past.

Fuck this gotdamn team. I'm still a fan. But fuck em.
2681145, Man, I've pretty much given up at this point.

ratings are allegedly way down in the local market

and I doubt they're selling all that much gear
