As usual Arizona acts as a contract gutter attracted to guys who will never play again. They also trade up and get some cheap players here, basically cost them Kruger and some fringe prospects. Mostly this deal just highlights that, as always, the Hawks are in salary cap trouble and the Coyotes need to hit the salary floor firmly.

Hellebuyck at $6M per is a steal if he plays like he did last year. Pretty much in step with these sort of first "big contracts" for a No. 1 goalie now. Crazy that this guy was toiling in obscurity and had almost no billing coming into pro hockey.
