Not sure what he was expecting as far as being able to stay or what he had against being a rental for a team with a real chance to win. I get not wanting to be traded where you ultimately go, but why short the Isles? He gave them a chance I guess but like I said I can't see what more he wanted from them.

Toronto is in a great spot for this year with their forwards, they have money for Nylander and should have a great group. Their defense is still trash but much like Philly the guy they needed wasn't really out there. So they went for the best available player and got him. It'll be interesting to see how they ditch the last year of Marleau's contract next summer.
