she was basically doing the tone deaf false equivalence republican thing comparing the child immigrants forcefully separated from their parents and placed in 'tender age' facilities to people leaving their children at daycare for 8 hours a day.

her entire timeline was like a maga troll/bot account.
2664164, Maybe this?

Plenty of racist shitheads in the Boston area, but in McHale's case I'm guessing the fact that he's rich and white has more to do with it than spending some years in Boston.

McHale being old and having been in Boston doesn't explain shit.
And it doesn't explain the most vile of the racist far right
people in America right now.

White kids who BrooklynWhat went to high school with were in
Charlottesville.

It's young angry white dudes that are specifically the
most terrifying (and the white women who enable them)

>McHale being old and having been in Boston doesn't explain
>shit.

Yes, it does. Statistically, older white men are Trump's deepest base of support. And the older you are, the more likely that you are a Trump supporter. So you are wrong already.

>And it doesn't explain the most vile of the racist far right

>McHale being old and having been in Boston doesn't explain
>shit.

Yes, actually it does. Statistically, the older you are the more likely you are to be a trump supporter. Those same things also go for being a man and being white.

Boston…yeah I have no idea on that one.

>And it doesn't explain the most vile of the racist far right
>
>people in America right now.

Well, that's a question of opinion AND has nothing to do with the assertion he made. I'm not sure we agree who "the most vile" are, how exactly are we quantifying "vile" and why do you think everyone would share your exact metric of something so subjective.

Also no one said anything about that in the original post. Just that Kevin McHale being an old white man makes it unsurprising that he is a Trump supporter. We were supposed to be discussing who the most strident racists amongst Trump supporters are? Why didn't you tell us??

>White kids who BrooklynWhat went to high school with were in

Fascinating vague anecdote!

Perhaps they terrify YOU the most, and although it's unlikely, maybe you even have something intelligent to say about this phenomenon, so g'head and make a post! Your bratty carping on people for not saying things that you apparently want to say but didn't is fucking weird. I know you haven't posted anything that didn't get laughed off the boards in a calendar year, but don't get scared now.

Talk about deep and profound.

Let me reflect on that, and get back to you.

Uh.

Young white far right winger racists are actually
the largest domestic threat to national security

understand this.

And this is NOT including growing groups like the

Man, if the majority of the white people you hang around are Trump supporters, I understand a bit more why you post how you do. That's gotta take a toll.

I'm kidding but not even really.

I knew ONE person, not even a Trump voter but general Men's Rights-Transgenderism is a mental disease-Black Lives Matter are terrorists- type. We had known each other for twenty years and do not talk anymore at all. I couldn't deal with that type of shit. It's one thing to have differing opinions but if you fuck with Trump we cannot be friends or even pleasant associates.

Maybe I'm lucky but yeah, I don't spend personal time around Trump supporters at all and I do not know a single white person who voted for Trump unless we count somebody I know's dad or uncle or something.

I live in New York City, which no doubt is a significant part of the reason. I also don't work in an office and haven't for a long, long time.

Just having ONE formerly good friend become a semi-alt-right type was hard enough. It ended a long, long friendship going back to being teenagers, which is the only reason it even lasted that long.

I was joking but to all of you out there who HAVE to live, work and socialize with MAGA types daily, you have my sympathy. I couldn't do it.

Where I live, if you were a Trump supporter your social life would be very, very trying, unless you were extremely wealthy. Even then, you might not want to advertise it. Or maybe if you live on Staten Island, in which case you don't count anyway. Whatever other charges can be leveled against white liberals in this region, supporting Trump is not one of them. The average young white woman in New York City will become violently enraged if you even mention Trump's name, or at the sight of him on TV.

Actually wearing a MAGA hat outside would certainly bring verbal attacks, and quite possibly a physical confrontation.

2664351, So you're saying there are no racists in NYC?! okayplayer. n\m

Not really one of my hangouts. I've offered my personal experiences with living in NYC which of course does not include every square inch of the city and any remote pockets/neighborhoods that may not be in line with the values of 98% of the rest of the city.

What neighborhood can I not go in?

Where do you dumbasses live?

Other than Staten Island, which is not a place any New Yorker gives a fuck about getting on a ferry to go to, there are not "trump zones" in New York.

Is this really such a crazy concept? Do people think every place in America is exactly like where they live?

Like, if someone told me, hey people really hate the Clintons in San Antonio, Texas or Lynchburg, Virginia, it would not surprise me at all.

I am 100% certain that no one I am friends with voted for Trump and literally no one I know well at all.

They are also Bob the "cool" guy in the office next door that's chops it up with you about the latest hip-hop releases and lets you use his Tidal password. They are Mary the milf-ish secretary that always tells you how nice you look and offers candy from the jar on her desk. we're all aware there are quiet racists in the office (some not so quiet), but as far as your inner circle goes it's pretty easy to weed shitheads out.
2664342, Might be different for white/black coworkers, though
Posted by Marauder21, Thu Jun-21-18 02:59 PM
I had a white coworker who is a full MAGA/blue lives matter type who tried to talk to me about that, assuming I would be sympathetic. It didn't go the way he thought it would and that was that. Same dude was friendly with any black/Latino/Asian (east or south) in the office. But I'll bet any amount of money he's never tried to talk to them about why cops should be able to kill everyone or why eating soy turns you gay or whatever. And they know he never would.

So if you're almost certainly not going to get that verbal confirmation, what's left but your own intuition?

is stronger than the intuition of the average American citizen. There have been a few people who surprised me with their Trump support but most of those are co-workers I already didn't fuck with or facebook connections I barely know. Only 1 actual friend was a surprise MAGA dude, though to be fair I found that out from someone else.

It's not though. When I pointed out I don't know ONE, you moved the goalposts to "racists", a vague enough statement that, depending on your definition of it, could apply to lots of white people who would never vote for Trump.

I mean, people think Hillary Clinton invented the carceral state and has a history of anti-blackness.

I get the feeling he doesn't get out much.

I mean, if you really think all white people everywhere are voting for trump, how the fuck do you think he lost the popular vote.

Black people are 8% of the US population.

The minute ALLl white people start voting for trump might as well fire up the gas chambers.
2664379, as fascinating and insightful as that all was
Posted by dula dibiasi, Thu Jun-21-18 04:53 PM
you're still wrong.

you seem to be conflating "racist" and "trump supporter". they aren't synonymous.

i live in chicago, dogg. we don't really do Republican here.

so no, i don't know many white people who support or voted for trump. certainly not "the vast majority" or whatever the hell nonsense you said.

now do I know white people who are probably closet racists? of course, plenty. that's a different conversation.
2664398, I'm saying. I live in the Bay Area.
Posted by mrhood75, Thu Jun-21-18 05:49 PM
More than 3/4 of the voting population voted for Clinton. And I'd imagine that we had one of the larger voting percentages for Stein. Drumf voters made up another from 9 to 14% of the voting population.

So yeah, we have racism here, most prominently in the form of gentrification. But "voting for Drumf" type of racism is barely statistically significant.

Shoot, I think I only personally **know** two people who voted for Drumf. One is the neighbor of my best friend and part of family that owned a supermarket chain. The other is a Black woman, which is about as much of a statistical outlier that is possible to exist.

You can always confidently assume that posters of any race who have displayed a consistent history of bigoted posting and toxic masculinity probably own 1-3 MAGA hats. Easy call, really.

HRC won my county with damn near 80% of the vote, and the one drumpf rally that was scheduled here was ultimately cancelled after 40,000+ protesters showed up.

i can count the people i know who voted for dude on one hand.
2664929, Yeah, you can look up your county voting info
Posted by Marauder21, Mon Jun-25-18 01:16 PM
and they might have city breakdowns as well (though I believe you need to search via the city there, so it's not as uniform) if you want to see exactly where Trump support around you came from. And it's definitely NOT a strictly rural thing, the burbs were full of Trumpers (with some exceptions.) For instance, I'm stunned that Clinton beat Trump by 20 in the (historically pretty conservative) suburb where the Mall of America is located. But some of the other burbs around here tell a different story.
2664216, Internet says Gordon Hayward is a Trump supporter too
