2662590, Where do you want LeBron James to go?
Posted by Melanism, Wed Dec-31-69 07:00 PM
As much as I hate the Celtics, The Ringer's case for LeBron joining the Celtics (https://www.theringer.com/nba/2018/6/8/17440192/lebron-james-boston-celtics-offseason) has me intrigued than any of the other potential landing spots.

Poll question: Where do you want LeBron James to go?

2662593, I just want him on a team that plays defense and has a bench
Posted by tomjohn29, Mon Jun-11-18 07:58 AM
and a great coach
So I guess Boston lol

so all these bandwagon lebron fans around here can at least root for their team instead of acting like they dont exist.

seriously though i'd probably go to double digit hornets games if he came. most i've been to in a year was 8
2662601, he does that and I will personally crown him GOAT

2662600, Houston or Philly
Posted by auragin_boi, Mon Jun-11-18 08:21 AM
Boston would seem, KD-ish lol and Bron doesn't need that.

Philly affords him a chance to get 2-3 more but still be looked at like it's him who's making it possible. Boston is title ready without LeBron.

Houston would be like Miami a bit. Would suck to have the WCF be Houston vs G-State instead of the finals but either of those teams vs whomever steps up to rule the east (Boston likely, Philly secondarily) would be awesome to see as well.

golden state
2662617, Ideally - I'd like him to stay in Cleveland
Posted by Vex_id, Mon Jun-11-18 09:21 AM
but I just don't see how Cleveland can build a championship caliber-team with the contracts on the books, Gilbert as the head of the snake, and a team that would win 22 games w/ out LeBron.

If he moves - I'd like to see:

(1) Philly. The degree of difficulty here would be fairly high (to win a title) compared w/ the other choices - but I think it would be the most rewarding. I also think it would be an incredibly electric atmosphere in Philly - a city starved for a title - and Bron/Simmons/Embid would have a lot of fun. My only concern here would be to retain the snipers (Belli/Reddic/Covington) and have enough to attract another veteran -- also - I have some concerns that simmons/embid might still be too green to compete w/ GS - but I think their growth is fast-tracked w/ Bron there.

(2) Houston. I just think that this is the easiest plug & play model for Bron -- and a place where he's immediately thrust into a championship caliber team on day one. I don't have any doubt that if healthy and retained - Houston wins the title next year w/ Bron. That said - I do o have concerns about CP3's health and Harden's ability to coalesce w/ Bron - as I don't see Harden as a guy who really moves off of the ball well. He seems to always need to dominate the ball - or else he just stands in the corner. But I think he and Bron could master the two-way give & go play and there might not be a more potent scoring combo in the league.

(3) San Antonio. If Kawhi was healthy and motivated - this would be my first choice. I want Bron to play in a great system to end out his career - and Pop is brilliant at elongating careers and the Spurs have an immense winning culture - always competing at a high level no matter who is on the court. With a healthy Kawhi, Bron, Aldridge and some great role players - they would be as talented as anyone in the league.

(4) Boston. The Bron-Boston beef is real - and I can't see this happening because of the fresh wounds Boston is licking after being dominated by LeBron for nearly a decade - but if both sides could come to an agreement - this would be the most balanced and dynamic roster in the League - and I think they would beat GS next year.

Where I don't want to see him go: Golden State (obviously won't happen) - and the Lakers. I see both of those teams/cultures being horrible for Bron.

what's horrible about the lakers (or warriors) culture for Bron?

>what's horrible about the lakers (or warriors) culture for
>Bron?

They both have great cultures - just not for LeBron. Both are super privileged franchises (Lakers historically and GSW in past 4 years) - and they wouldn't even really appreciate having LeBron. LeBron has never played for a multi-championship franchise (prior to his arrival) - and I think he'd much rather go to a place like Philly and end their championship drought (and be truly embraced) than go to L.A. or Golden State where they feel like they don't really want/need him.

that's subjective.

so you think (at this stage in his career) lebron would turn down the opportunity to play for an org that knows how to win championships in favor of a team that hasn't proven much at all?

Posted by bentagain, Mon Jun-11-18 12:28 PM
only possibility of him getting the GOAT spot

Use his leverage as a potential FA to force Gilbert's hand

You sell me the team at a fair market price, or I walk in FA and your franchise goes back to poo poo (c) status

Of course, I want him to come to the 6ers

but as the OP stated, there's a series of dominoes with the BOS proposals that are almost too good to not happen...hilarisad.
2662651, Dilbert should have been forced to give Bron the team after 2016

2662652, I don't think that's allowed but if it were, I'd be all in

I still think LeBron is going to end up being "Cheese Eyes" (in Charlotte) w/regard to the Cavs when it's all said and done
2662653, He could channel it through Rich Paul and them
Posted by bentagain, Mon Jun-11-18 12:55 PM
If there was some legal hurdle to jump over

Use Klutch as the front...and Bron can go on making all of the decisions he currently does.

If there isn't a conflict of interest with Bron having team mates represented by Klutch (assumedly), why would there be an issue with them owning the team?
2662714, assuming boston isn't a realistic option, my vote's for houston.

which means RANGZ over everything else

knew that as long as he was the featured player on a title team that 2009, 2010 sans Shaq gave him lifetime immunity

"better than Kobe" is not enough

(also, those words will never apply to Kevin Durant)

2663353, yea The lakers scenario is tantalizing
Posted by Vex_id, Fri Jun-15-18 02:10 PM
largely because they are the only team that could actually facilitate a situation where 3 stars (Bron/Kawhi/PG) could land there - and - just because it's the Lakers - but the Spurs are not just going to cave to Kawhi's demands. They aren't run by Dan Gilbert - there will be no trading Kyrie to Boston to elevate them.

Spurs will go for whatever is in their interest. I think Boston probably has the most assets to sell for Kawhi - but yea - if the Spurs decide to accommodate Kawhi's demands - they will go for the best deal available - and I just don't see the Lakers as having the assets to be the front-runner.

-->
2663354, yeah it's not going to happen

Posted by Dstl1, Fri Jun-15-18 02:37 PM

2663396, Kawhi having a player option next year gives him all the leverage
Posted by LA2Philly, Fri Jun-15-18 03:09 PM
Any other team that isn’t his preferred spot takes the risk of moving multiple assets for nothing in return
2663360, Yall realize the team that trades for Bron has to give him the max?
Posted by Kira, Fri Jun-15-18 02:18 PM
Yall complained about Kobe... Wait til Bron signs a five year max deal at his age....

I want promising young talent with a mix of solid vets. Easiest solution is Bron opting in then facilitating a trade somewhere else.

I want Tatum, Rozier, and first or two for Bron from Boston.

I want BI, possibly Lonzo or Hart, and a first or two from LA.

If Bron leaves I want something for him and wish him the best.
