2661875, Future best QB in league
Posted by COOLEHMAGAZINE, Wed Dec-31-69 07:00 PM
Was reading this article basically laying out why/how everyone who has seen Garoppolo play thinks he is Brady 2.0

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000935424/article/cassius-marsh-jimmy-garoppolo-shredded-patriots-d

And I want some idea of who people think the next GREAT QB is out of the young guys whose hats are currently really IN the ring.

Guys like Carr and Luck have already defined themselves to some degree. Trubisky I left out because he has had the least opportunity to prove anything- bad offensive systems, very few games played.

Dak Prescott I left off because the poll only has so many slots and while I was tempted to drop Mariota…can't have Winston without Mariota and vice-versa. Feel free to write him in though.

Poll question: Future best QB in league

Poll result (15 votes)
Garoppolo (4 votes)Vote
Wentz (3 votes)Vote
Watson (6 votes)Vote
Goff (0 votes)Vote
Mariota (1 votes)Vote
Winston (1 votes)Vote

2661881, Dak Prescott votes can go here

They are probably ill-advised though.
2661883, MM still has the most talent and the most potential
Posted by Marauder21, Thu Jun-07-18 04:07 PM
We'll see what the new offense is going to be like for him, but I'd take him going forward over all of these dudes.

I like Mariota, so explain to me why you think that
2661895, Better than Winston and Goff

I'm not at all a believer of Jimmy G, I'll admit I'm wrong if he balls for a whole season in 2018. I like Watson but we've got no clue what he'll look like. Obviously Wentz is great but if you had to make me take one between a 100% healthy Mariota and a 100% healthy Wentz, I'd probably take Marcus just because his athleticism and speed can get you more.

Obviously it's all contingent on systems/coaching, and that's where Wentz has a big advantage. He already knows the Eagles have an offense that he can run like a pro and takes full advantage of his talents, while that's still a question mark for Mariota. But that's who I'd select if I were starting a team right today.

or scheme to do it.
2661918, Watson. hes got "it" to me.

2662717, this is actually a really good question

Garoppolo I was never wild about but I think he's in a great situation. Wentz as well, if he comes back healthy. I thought Watson's flaws would show up more, but he does seem to have that certain "moxie" that's innate in leaders.

Mariota and Winston have had bad coaching but they kind of are what they are by the end of next year. Winston especially, his bad turnovers started his last year at FSU and throwing funballs seems like it's in his DNA forever.
2662718, legit funballs too

Has Winston's coaching been that bad?

I think dude just is Black Favre. Which…can go lots of ways.

Mariota is so hard to evaluate because in college he was a system QB and in Tennessee there hasn't been much rhyme or reason yet.

Why is no one in on Prescott, or Goff for that matter?
2662733, u watch Seinfeld?
Posted by cgonz00cc, Tue Jun-12-18 07:26 AM
i feel like hes been having an uninterrupted stream of "Im Keith Hernandez" since the chip at FSU
2662735, Dak and Goff feel like game managers
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Jun-12-18 07:49 AM
and they will only prosper with a GREAT running game.

I don't see them winning games but moreso not losing them which isn't bad but that puts them on the 2nd tier in my rankings

2662734, Watson
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Jun-12-18 07:42 AM
not sure why you wouldn't put Dak ahead of Winston..

Winston looks ass juice

Deshaun has it all. He is MM on steroids. Much better passer too.

I explained, no Mariota without Winston in a poll, or vice-versa.

Not yet anyway
2662743, why is that? At this point one is good, the other is not..
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Jun-12-18 08:37 AM
let them go their separate ways...lol

>let them go their separate ways...lol

Hasn't been long enough for me to make such a definitive statement, nor do the numbers bear out your assertion (and I am a Mariota fan)

This year will really help cement my opinions on both guys
2662756, I think you can assume who I'd pick
Posted by Dr Claw, Tue Jun-12-18 09:42 AM
if Garoppolo is actually GOOD enough to be in this conversation every year I'm going to be LOLOLOLOLOLOL until the end of time

because the Cheatriots pulled a Gilbert
2662759, I think Cam has a chance to be the best right now.
Posted by Tw3nty, Tue Jun-12-18 10:08 AM
Future tho, Wentz
2662789, RE: I think Cam has a chance to be the best right now.
Posted by COOLEHMAGAZINE, Tue Jun-12-18 11:09 AM
What makes you think that? Cam isn't even Top 5 right now.

2662797, His OL was trash
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Jun-12-18 11:25 AM
and his WR's were slow and hurt

2662802, RE: His OL was trash
Posted by COOLEHMAGAZINE, Tue Jun-12-18 11:34 AM
They got those big slow receivers because theoretically they would pair well with his talents. It was a conscious decision, not a stripping of talent.

Benjamin, Funchess on the same team to me seemed dumb from the jump, then they reversed course on Benjamin.

Regardless, Cam isn't top 5 and I don't see him getting there. And of his peers Cousins and Matt Ryan are in same league as Cam, and Russell Wilson better
2662822, Cam's best season was when Benjamin went down in camp
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Jun-12-18 12:47 PM
When they let his run a few times early he gets into a rhythm and is a monster.

He played his ass off in the playoff game in NO. Dude put the game winning pass on the WR's hands in the end zone but dude wasn't ready to be a star.

they also fucked up by letting Ted Ginn go. That dude blew to top off and made it easier for WR's underneath.

I think he bounces back this year now that he is healthy AND he has Norv Turner at OC. Shiiieeet.
2662794, i think Cam's best is behind him
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Tue Jun-12-18 11:20 AM
2662798, Cam has to wake up thinking about the Super Bowl against Denver...
Posted by Dstl1, Tue Jun-12-18 11:26 AM
every.damn.morning. That was the one.
2662791, RE: Future best QB in league

Wentz was MVP frontrunner but clearly not everyone was buying in.

I would say maybe because of injury but Watson played less and got hurt badly too, but has double the votes.

No one believes Goff is that guy…which, good, because I don't either. Alex Smith 2.0

Dak not on the poll but flabby write-in response.

Jameis Winston support is almost non-existent compared to how people rode for him coming into the league.

Garoppolo threw a ton of picks but the circumstances of that SF season, the contract, and the talk swirling around him and the Patriots and Brady is certainly firing the hype machine up. Even I am kinda believing it despite the INT ratio which was not good.
2662796, That Texans offense looked ridiculous with Watson
