Probably means Marc Gasol is gone.
I didnt like JB when hes had a shot with the Rockets. I think he's a good assistant but dont see him moving the needle much as a head coach, but hey, better than a white retread.

And that was likely part of why he wants the job. It's a dire situation, but one where the expectations will hopefully be tempered, given Gasol's newfound washedness.

some good players but draft classes are everything in
these situations.

And if expectations were tempered, then they wouldn't
have fired their last coach, who everyone thinks is good.

They are like New Orleans and a small handful of other orgs, very open to black coaching hires. At least half the coaches in their franchise's history have been black. Jackson, Hollins, Lowe, Davis, Fizdale, Bickerstaff, not sure if I am missing anyone.

He's got experience with rebuilding between Philly and was also part of a competitive team with the Cavs when he was in player development. I dunno where he worked in between but he is a very solid basketball man, I like this hire a lot.

He's in between analytics and old school. End of the day though, yea he got a job before Sam. Clifford I wouldnt be surprised if he can get that team to a playoff birth like he did Charlotte--- but thats about his ceiling
