2651300, Too early to talk about playoff refereeing?
Posted by bentagain, Wed Apr-18-18 06:48 PM
I know it was a hot topic early in the season

But the playoff games I've watched so far...the officiating has been wildly inconsistent

My pet peeve has always been letting the small guys get away with murder on bigs

and then they flop against bigs and get the call

Shit's pretty blatant IMO

F situational officiating...and call the game.
2651309, that statue of liberty dunk was crazy.

Posted by Vex_id, Wed Apr-18-18 08:25 PM
They look lost in large stretches - and just didn't have enough time to get comfortable with each other after the trade and w/ all the injuries. It's hero ball by Bron or they lose - not a good formula.

-->
2651339, yeah you walk away from this one happy if you're indy.
Posted by dula dibiasi, Wed Apr-18-18 08:31 PM
a shot to tie in the final minute, after that 1st quarter? you're going home feeling good.
2651348, Yea Indy has outplayed Cleveland in the aggregate.
Posted by Vex_id, Wed Apr-18-18 08:50 PM
The dynamic may shift in Indy as playoff momentum can be unpredictable - and LeBron almost prefers to play on the road it seems. But this inexperienced Cleveland team already looked shook at home - while Indy played with a lot of confidence.
-->
2651351, i said in the g1 thread -- indy is just well coached, fam.

LeBron can't be expected to do this anymore. not alone.

not having Kyrie is going to be their undoing. no agendas, just facts.

replacing his production is going to be impossible.

I'm already thinking offseason, this team ain't going nowhere in the East

2651344, Rodney Hood is shook. Hill plays scared. Clarkson = no poise
Posted by Vex_id, Wed Apr-18-18 08:45 PM
and even Nance (who I liked the most out of the 4) is struggling to be productive. Love is a magnet for injury and is back to being Playoff Kevin.

Kyle Korver being your 2nd best player is not going to get you very far. This team is really bad.

2651346, it's like the philly game 2 weeks ago.

Adams missed a lot of minutes with fouls and something is obviously going on with his arm. Derrick Favors annihilated us on the boards with Steve out. Rubio made 5 threes, too. I don't expect Russ, Paul and Melo to go 0-14 in the fourth quarter, again. Donovan is a boss. We gotta go to Utah and get one.

At this rate I don't think I can do Wolves/Rockets tonight. Waking up to the Wolves just being rocky again is a snoozer.

i've killed thibs all year, but kat has to start tackling teague and bringing the ball up himself before he lets himself go out like this.
2651388, chuck and shaq talked about it last night.
Posted by dula dibiasi, Thu Apr-19-18 08:52 AM
only so much of this can be blamed on coaching. offensive sets have 2 or 3 options at minimum. KAT has to be more aggressive demanding the rock, and use the touches he does get better than he has so far. when he's gotten the ball on the block, he's been wasteful.
2651396, I agree. I didn't watch last night...
Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Thu Apr-19-18 09:21 AM

They could use a shot blocker/rim protector. Pacers got tons of easy layups. I don't know if his off court stuff is a factor in him not playing or if Lue just prefers small ball lineup but not sure this is gonna win the series.
2651397, yup. Cavs are getting destroyed in the paint.

nothing else. And it was a side-story on the global leader as well. I get it though - they won. But point is this: Harden has a great team around him. CP3 boss'd up and Harden didn't even have to do anything for them to blow out the Wolves last night.

That's a luxury LeBron doesn't have -- he has to do everything for the team and that's what makes him the most valuable player in the game - because he can do everything - and he does w/ shocking consistency.

and you know damn well if bron went 2-18 the skies would fall.

And I'm glad you think so highly of Kevin Love. He's a good player - but has never been great in any playoff situation.

and they still would win comfortably. This team is so reliant on him that it's absurd. These guys can and have to play better. Tristan is retired at 27. J.R. looks like he just got up every time he hits the floor. The new fleet from the west-coast look like they're only pick-up game ready. Playoff Kevin is back.

They really could mess around and lose in the 1st round.
