2650532, Weekend Soccer 04.14-15: Harry Kane Warning
Posted by benny, Fri Apr-13-18 09:03 AM
Even though by any standard City are having a historical season, the pretty turned to ugly in a hurry in the last two weeks, with three big losses against rivals and an overwhelming feeling that they had lost control somehow. Of course the title is still theirs, but the spectacular season has now sputtered to something a bit different. Into this maelstrom steps Tottenham, winner of 6 straight and still in the fight for a better spot than its current 4th place. A win won't give City the title but it would sure feel close to it considering the embarrassment of embarrassments from the last 3 games.

2650533, CL/EL draws

CL
Bayern-RM
Pool-Roma

EL
Arsenal-Atletico
Marseille-Salzburg

these are some damn good matchups. Actually prefer Bayern and Real to meet here since we get to see them play twice. Would love an Arsenal-OM final but the other teams feel like huge spoilers
2650541, Damn, I really didn't want to have to play atleti twice:(

Arsenal's best chance v Simeone was in a one-off fixture. Over two legs, I just don't see it working out for Arsene.

In other news, if liverpool doesn't win CL, it'll be Real with a 3 peat. I suspect it'll be pool that wins.
2650551, sweet baby jesus yes

Obviously Roma is a good team. But I will take it.

2650554, Is Bayern as good this year as they usually are?
Posted by smutsboy, Fri Apr-13-18 10:36 AM
I know absolutely nothing outside of the PL.
2650618, better than the pep years, but not as good as that CL winning team
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Fri Apr-13-18 01:23 PM
Heynckes got em playing though.
2650649, that Ribery is still a key piece of that team tells me everything I need

2650663, Better than the Pep years lol

2650689, Well we had a good run

An extremely disciplined team that sits deep to lure in opposing teams and then springs the counter effectively...it’s pretty much our worst matchup stylistically and in terms of their team make-up.
2650692, Wtf is up with this night kickoff for Spurs-City
Posted by benny, Sat Apr-14-18 10:50 AM
Not even sure who it’s for: all the people who go out in Europe are gonna miss it, too early for Asia (3am) and middle of the afternoon isn’t great for the N American market either, especially on opening day of the nba playoffs
2650696, Bizarre scheduling

2650710, Salah is just bonkers.

This fool did a blind header over the goalie on the volley. Is it a volley if it's a header?

I always expect him to score whenever he's threatening
2650730, His season has gone from HAM to the stuff of legends.

2650743, that ball in from trent wasn't too shabby, either

2650733, players mailed this one in today.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sun Apr-15-18 11:49 AM
guess they won their super bowl last week.
2650736, Mourinho mailed it in too.
Posted by dagu, Sun Apr-15-18 11:55 AM
Lingard, Martial, Mata, Lukaku, Sanchez and Rashford all at the same time? Yeah, that's a great idea.
2650739, our fans beg for it all the time.

he set the team up fine today. the players let him down. they're a flighty bunch.
2650740, RE: our fans beg for it all the time.

Rashford, Martial and Lingard all work better when they have space to work with. And Mourinho's insistence on playing Mata out wide had always baffled me. By the time all six of those guys were on the field together and West Brom scored there was nowhere for the ball to go.

That being said, Pogba was shit today. But Mata wasn't that far behind.
2650745, Pogba was a joke today.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Sun Apr-15-18 02:38 PM
2650741, yup. players bitched up today. just out there half assing it.

2650792, Batshuayi fractured his ankle. Or broke his leg.
Posted by RandomFact, Sun Apr-15-18 06:08 PM
Either way a world cup appearance is in doubt. Which is sad because he was in great form.

No sure what this means in terms of his loan. Twitter seems to think he's on his way back to Chelsea already.

And putting way too much intrigue into clinching fourth, all while Dembele transfer rumors heat up. Ship be sinkin
