2649070, 2018 NBA Draft Early Entries
Posted by Frank Longo, Tue Apr-03-18 03:24 PM
The season's over. Congrats to Villanova. Now, to follow many of these talented kids to the next level...

Here are the athletes who've declared for the NBA Draft and signed with an agent that have a realistic chance at going in the first round (let's say they're Top 50 draft prospects pre-combine):

Rawle Alkins- Arizona
DeAndre Ayton- Arizona
Marvin Bagley- Duke
Mo Bamba- Texas
Keita Bates-Diop- OSU
Miles Bridges- MSU
Troy Brown- Oregon
Tony Carr- Penn State
Aaron Holiday- UCLA
Jaren Jackson Jr- MSU
Justin Jackson- Maryland
Brandon McCoy- UNLV
DeAnthony Melton- USC
Chimezie Metu- USC
Shake Milton- SMU
Michael Porter Jr- Missouri
Mitchell Robinson- n/a
Landry Shamet- Wichita State
Anfernee Simons- n/a
Allonzo Trier- Arizona
Robert Williams- Texas A&M
Trae Young- Oklahoma

And here are some guys who have declared *without* signing with an agent that have a realistic shot at getting drafted second round (asterisks by guys who could realistically go first round):

Bruce Brown*- Miami
Noah Dickerson- Washington
Carsen Edwards- Purdue
Jacob Evans*- Cincinnati
Melvin Frazier*- Tulane
Jaylen Hands- UCLA
Jalen Hudson- Florida
Jalen McDaniels- San Diego State
Josh Okogie- Georgia Tech
Shamorie Ponds- St. John's
Kerwin Roach- Texas
PJ Washington- Kentucky
Lindell Wigginton- Iowa State
Austin Wiley- Auburn

And finally, a list of guys I think could've been draftable who've decided to come back to school:

Daniel Gafford- Arkansas
Markis McDuffie- Wichita State
Zach Norvell- Gonzaga

We can add to this in the replies as more and more announcements happen.

2650067, Spellman's the NBA guy on that Nova team IMO
Posted by bentagain, Tue Apr-10-18 12:50 PM
In the age of 1 and done, how in the entire fuck is Nova/Wright getting kids to redshirt?
2650110, Spellman was forced to redshirt by the NCAA.

Jay had nothing to do with it. It was an eligibility issue, IIRC.
2650044, in WTF news: Marcus Derrickson hiring an agent

enjoy europe/d-league. coulda been a contender next year. doesn't have the athleticism, but that shot and overall offensive game is awesome.

one of the all time great mic pick-ups from a coach
2650047, this time of year has become real bittersweet
Posted by cgonz00cc, Tue Apr-10-18 10:15 AM
especially because almost all Michgan EEs nowadays are more or less a surprise from the previous summer

Burke, Hardaway, Stauskas, GR3, Wilson, and now maybe Matthews. all afterthoughts 12 months before they got drafted.

no idea what Mo will do, he showed improvements in all the right areas but still isnt getting a 1st round projection in most places. if he comes back....hooo boy.
2650055, Another batch of updates:

He could use another year or two and his family isn't hurting for money.
2650109, He's ready. Led the ACC in 3-point shooting as a frosh.
Posted by Frank Longo, Tue Apr-10-18 03:48 PM
That'd be difficult to replicate, tbh. Combine that with his good positional size, he'll get drafted, and while Givony has him mid-second, I've seen a number of places that have him mid-first. Odds are he'll be somewhere in the middle-- would love to see the Celtics or Warriors give him a look end of first.

He just doesn't have too much to gain by coming back. If he shoots, say, 38% instead of 40% from 3 next year, it'd hurt his stock.
2650130, Everyone will look bad next to RJ, GET OUT now

Mo Wagner signing with an agent, and leaving a storied career for M fans to remember for a looooong time

he deserves a good team in the bottom of the first round

summer league might be real fun
2651667, Charles Matthews declares, no agent
Posted by cgonz00cc, Fri Apr-20-18 12:05 PM
I have to assume the UAC is going to tell him to go back and get better at the things John Beilein is good at teaching

The shooing numbers are ok overall but 49/32/56 isnt an NBA split

2651742, Tyus Battle declares, no agent
