So if he comes to training camp and is still injured or underperforms or both, the Niners can cut him and only owe him $3 million.
But if he's good and plays every game and is on the field for at least 90% of the defensive snaps, then we'll owe him $13 million, and he'll be worth it.
Pretty safe situation for us either way.
