he was there for those heartbreaking moments like...THAT :( btw, i watched *that* in a foot locker at the livonia mall bc my dad dragged us out of the house for something.

but he was also there for THIS, and i cant overstate the impact of this on a 9 year old Gonzo:

https://youtu.be/YxpoqP9PkqM

but my all time favorite Keith Jackson calls werent even game calls. it was his introduction to the Rose Bowl every year that was my yearly favorite Keith Jackson moment. for a midwestern kid like myself, the Rose Bowl means so much. our family, including aunts/uncles/cousins, watched it - and the parade - EVERY YEAR at my grandparents' no matter who was playing. and then at 530 sharp we heard (some variation of) this:

https://youtu.be/Vjrtl06cH68

that one is obviously my favorite, but any of them are neck-hair-raisers for me.

the GOAT

2637617, I was at that game

Hearing him was so much a part of my Saturdays in high school. The game I first remembered when I heard the news was the 'Wide Right' Miami / FSU game. He simply couldn't believe the ending and he pretty much summed up how I felt.

And also from the accounts I've heard he was also a pretty good man outside the booth as well.

RIP
