For the first time, Lomachenko is fighting for a belt other than the WBO, which is in his promoter's pocket. Linares isn't the best comp Loma could fight and has been knocked out before, but he IS a belt-holder in the lightweight division. He's also no soft-touch. This is much better than Loma fighting guys who are moving up in weight AND coming off losses. Should Lomachenko get past Linares, we need to see him against Mikey Garcia. If Bob Arum has the gall to disrespect legends like Muhammad Ali and Mayweather Jr by saying Loma is better than them, then stop protecting him from dangerous fights and let's see the proof.
