Total due currently for those who haven't paid: $72
You have until 11:59pm on January 31st to pay without further penalty.
paypal for payment: emystery@yahoo.com or paypal.me/auraginboi

Missing payment:
-Theo ($4 balance...you were 2 days late)

****Late payment penalty schedule ***
Missed Oct deadline date = $4
No payment by Nov 30th = $4
No payment by Dec 31st = $4
No payment by Jan 31st = $4
No payment by Feb 28/29th = $4
No payment by Mar 31st = $4
No payment until the entire season is over = $25 total penalty

This would make the fee $85 at seasons end ($60 entry plus $25 penalty).

Gonna post this every rankings until everyone who is paying has paid.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rankings-
So as some of you know, I spent NYE in Hawaii (Waikiki, Oahu, 12/28-1/4) so I decided to give these rankings a Hawaii slant (by mentioning surfing and talking about my trip lol). And for the life of me, I don't understand how people could live anywhere else. The weather is perfect (70-81 all week, little to no rain, nice breezes). It's basically ruined me and now I want to live there so all my moves from now until my youngest is on his way to High School will be about relocation lol.
Anywho - Hang 10 to the End
1) Ghostown DJs (28-9), 305.6 (LR=3)(Shawn)
2) Gonzo's Ghoulies (27-10), 300 (LR=4)(cg00nz)
3) Washington DC Brunchers (24-13), 290.4 (LR=3)(Basa)
4) Virgin Island Presidents (23-14), 288.4 (LR=2)(Theo)
5) Tribeca HiBrows (23-14), 274.4 (LR=5)(Ern)
6) Coney Island Bad Boys VIII (17-20), 274.3 (LR=15)(Deputy Commish)
7) Oakland Cardpullers (20-17), 276.7 (LR=6)(Mr. Hood)
8) Northeast DC Trade Guerillas (21-16), 257.2 (LR=8)(Magilla)
9) Chi.ESL Markrakanens (18-19), 274.8 (LR=12)(Commish)
10) Stanley Forms a Wall (18-19), 266.1 (LR=9)(Boogs)
11) Englewood GunViolence (18-19), 263 (LR=7)(DVS)
12) Ozarks GOBs (17-20), 264.2 (LR=11)(Ceej)
13) L.A. Oatmeal Faces (13-24), 240 (LR=14)(RBO)
14) Chino Hills Big Ballers (10-27), 243 (LR=10)(Ryan)
15) Restown Smerf City Slamz (10-27), 220.3 (LR=16)(Smerf)
16) Waiters Isle Rappity Raps (9-28), 230.1 (LR=13)(DJR)
The last ten games are a strong indicator of what the postseason might shape up as. Granted injuries happen but the way it's looking:
1) Gonzo's Ghoulies (8-2), 319fppg
2) Coney Island Bad Boys VIII (8-2), 309
3) Ghostown DJs (9-1), 307.7
4) Washington DC Brunchers (7-3), 292.3
5) Virgin Island Presidents (5-5), 288.5
Champ is probably coming from this group of 5. My team was 6th at 281 but without some semblance of health, it's not gonna happen for me. Notice all of these teams come from the White (All Lives Matter) Conference. This has to be the toughest this conference has ever been. There's 2 teams sporting 300+ averages and the conference has 6 out of the top 8 averages including all of the top 4. The best avg in the White Conference is 29pts higher than the best avg in the Black Conference.
The ONLY way I see a Black Conference team winning is if the finals are marred by injury, resting or hot streaks.
Trade deadline is in 2 weeks so unless there's a big shake up, seems like the White Conference will Surf it's way to another title.
Major Rankings Shakeups: Coney Isle rocketing from 15 to 6. Also after several weeks at the bottom of the rankings, Restown has moved up to #15, putting the rookie DJR at the bottom, where rookies should be. Kudos to Smerf!!! Did you know the Hawaiian word for Last Place is "hope wahi"?
Hope also translates to "loser". LMAO!!!
2636877, Hawaii is a great place to relocate to if you are rich or don't want to own
a home.
2636887, Eh...it's not that bad if we're talking numbers
Posted by auragin_boi, Mon Jan-08-18 03:18 PM
I went on Redfin just to spot check and if it's just 2-3 ppl, you could find a space for a reasonable price.
I live in the Chicago Metro so $250-500K is normal for anything decent depending on where you want to live. Hawaii is the same. You're paying more for a place closer to 'the action'.
But hell, a spot at the Ritz-Carlton is like a mil.
http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/residences/waikiki-beach
And if you price that right as a vacation spot, it could pay for itself by the time you want to move there.
And yeah, owning an actual 'house' is pricey but it's in Hawaii and likely 2-15 minutes from a beach.
https://www.redfin.com/HI/Honolulu/910-Kapahulu-Ave-96816/unit-106/home/63764550
^^^2 beds, 1 bath townhouse/condo, 739 sqft, (low end), $350K
https://www.redfin.com/HI/Honolulu/4300-Waialae-Ave-96816/unit-B1205/home/88523676
^^^3 beds, 2 baths, 1368 sqft, (midrange and mid-quality), $650K
https://www.redfin.com/HI/Honolulu/4067-Keanu-St-96816/home/63933179
^^^3 beds, 2.5 baths, 2100sqft, (higher end), $1.4mil
My thing is, I'm not trying to move the whole family there right now unless I stumble upon winning lotto numbers. lol But when we ready to dip, I'll have the plan in order.
Hell, the new crib is 3500 sq ft (which we're renovating dead space to make it closer to 4K sqft) and it came with a basement (unfinished) that I get to put my touch on this spring (total finished space will be about 5500 including the basement). Had a pool and a .8 acre lot. This is in a far south suburb of Chicago. I need that for the 'big fam'. When most of the kids are off to college...won't need it.
If the living space is comfortable to come home to, I'm good. Most of my time will be spent out living and at the beach anyway. lol
2636897, How can you tell if those are fee simple or leasehold?
Posted by Cenario, Mon Jan-08-18 03:47 PM
2636898, They're fee
2636913, That's what we were told when we were in hawaii
Posted by Cenario, Mon Jan-08-18 04:19 PM
Fee simple was a grip for non natives and leaseholds were temporary or a gamble
2636919, It all depends where. Just gotta protect yourself
Posted by Ceej, Mon Jan-08-18 04:28 PM
The "non-native" tax is fake news. You have money you can buy a house/property.
2636926, ^^^Ceej is up on thangs
Posted by auragin_boi, Mon Jan-08-18 04:51 PM
They designate certain parts of the island for natives. You can't buy there unless you have native blood but if you got the cash, you can get a place.
2636932, right, well i guess that's what i meant by rich.
Posted by Cenario, Mon Jan-08-18 05:15 PM
you got a few survivor chips so you straight lolol
2636934, lol...nah, I just plan to aggressively clear my mortgage
Posted by auragin_boi, Mon Jan-08-18 05:40 PM
Me and the wife wanna get it out of the way within 10 yrs.
With the improvements, we should get a decent return and the sale will likely fund the Hawaiian crib.
We ain't rich (we do alright) but we plan well and make smart liquid $ moves. We are about to get heavy on that investment life too once we finish the house.
2636942, Not bad...wife and I considered doing that here but moving
Posted by Cenario, Mon Jan-08-18 06:55 PM
Somewhere where we can get a crib for half the price.
But that ain't happening, love NY too much.
2636925, Ah interesting to know
Posted by josephmurf2384, Mon Jan-08-18 04:50 PM
Every lender I have worked for did not do Hawaii loans due to the fact you technically need a "Brick and Mortar" location somewhere in the state for licensing requirements.
2636878, oh and i support these rankings.
2636894, Did you take all the kids?
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Mon Jan-08-18 03:32 PM
I dreamed of it for awhile when that show Hawaii life first came on. I have a friend from HS who moved for college and stayed.
I think one thing ive heard is once you move there -- your never fully a Hawaiian--always viewed as an outsider --and this may be even more true for black folks.
Damn your youngest is headed to HS? Whyd i think you had a kid around the same age is my odest (9).
Was me wifey and one of my best friends. Invited a few other folx but no one had the dough.
>I dreamed of it for awhile when that show Hawaii life first
I met so many people who came from other places. Had been there, 3 weeks, 3 months, 1yr, 28yrs, etc.
>I think one thing ive heard is once you move there -- your
>never fully a Hawaiian--always viewed as an outsider --and
>this may be even more true for black folks.
Don't care. I don't really interact with most of my neighbors traditionally (might be 1-2 I get cool with). I'm perfectly fine enjoying the islands and living in our little bubble. But from my week there...everyone is really nice so it won't be hard to make friends. It's just an easier way of life, more chill and less hustle. It's pricey to an extent (milk is like $7-8 dollars for a gallon lmao) but the exchange is worth it to me.
>Damn your youngest is headed to HS? Whyd i think you had a kid
>around the same age is my odest (9).
Nah, I said by the time my youngest is headed to HS. I have a blended fam now (I have 2 from my first go round, she has 2 and we have 1 together). Ages are 9-8-7-6 and 2. When the 2yr old is 13, he might be facing a transplant to finish HS in the Aloha state lol.
2637103, Playoffs maybe...not the finals
Posted by auragin_boi, Tue Jan-09-18 08:45 AM
The team that was supposed to win, usually does. We've rarely had a finals upset.
Tribeca (39-19, 297.7) beat Cerritos (27-31, 278.6)
Houston (39-19, 290.9) beat Stanley (36-22, 283.1)
LA (34-28, 258.2) beat Iowa City (35-27, 260.4) (slight upset)
South Texas (35-27, 265.4) beat Coney Island (44-18, 282.6) (upset and probably the biggest one based on regular season but Robe's team was on fire going into the 'offs)
Duval County (44-18, 294.7) beat East River (35-27, 265.7)
So one major upset in the last 5 years. And the way I see it, with so many high powered White Conference teams, no matter who makes it, they should be heavy favorites.
I get it though, you have to rep Black and you're the defending champ.
Cool.
Especially now that Dedmon is back and Russell on his way likely next week.
I get Teague back by the end of January and I'm going full throttle.
2637238, realistically speaking...I might make the offs
Posted by DVS, Wed Jan-10-18 11:51 AM
but I have no shot at the chip. Made some major draft mistakes that I didn't realize were mistakes at the time.
I'm playing for bragging rights and respect, not the cup.
2637251, I can see that but being pressed is half the battle young grasshopper
There's always the mid/late season G-League call up or bench warming rookie that tankers let shine second half of the year.
-Jeremy Lin
-Patty Mills
-Ish Smith
-Tyler Ulis
-WCS (rookie season)
All guys who made mid/late season runs of production that boosted a few teams.
All you gotta do is stay pressed (c) Floetry.
Next few weeks will tell me how good my team really is.
But damn I regret giving up on Dirk so fast. He looked dead in the water those first few weeks of the season and somebody actually clowned me for drafting him. SMH.
Now the rookie is looking like a mad scientist off my negligence.
And God forgive me for being nervous about Russell coming back given how well Dinwiddie has played. I just hope he goes back to his 1.30 fppm self after a few games adjustment.
2637334, i had dirk and dropped him too. didn't seem too high of a reward
2637343, im like 5 players away from a full clip
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Thu Jan-11-18 11:47 AM
Im giving up the highest pts scored dream i think.
Whats funny is right after that post last month my team (and the rooks) went on runs and now were in contention to challenge that 18 loss record. A month ago I felt better about my chances at pts.
I really need Monroe to get waived or traded to a team thats good for him and then need a decent showing from Noel or Fultz (preferably Noel).
Hopefully when Reggie gets back he goes back to early season reggie.
Beas has been a boss, but I cant rely on him to not do something dumb (like hurt himself in a game vs Mia while on this hot streak).
2637347, You might get the avg. You have mine by 2pts right now
Posted by auragin_boi, Thu Jan-11-18 12:35 PM
So you could realistically hold at 304+. My final was 302.5. You'd need a few seriously low scores over a multiple games and then no recoup above 300 to fall off a cliff. Even with the injuries you're putting up 321 over your last 5 and 304 over your last 10.
As far as the 18 loss record, that was just Frank's record that year. The all time low is 12 but the best winning percentage is basically a toss up between Boogs' 51-13 (79.7%) team and Theo's 50-12 (80.6%) team.
With 20 games left, you'd need to go 18-2 (79.3%) to sniff that percentage and 19-1 or 20-0 to top it.
I think you'll end up with a better record/winning% than Frank's 2012 team but I did that too, two years ago.
You should get the points record and beat Frank's record but with 2 teams within 12pts of you, you'll probably need to make a serious run through the playoffs to be considered greatest ever.
2637351, RE: You might get the avg. You have mine by 2pts right now
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Thu Jan-11-18 01:10 PM
My teamn is gonna fall off a cliff a bit avg wise over the next 5.
I think one of teh other criteria we talked about last post was separation. In terms of AVG, i may get highest ever, but still there wont be double digit separation between me and Cgoonz. I guess I could make the argument if I win (or he can if he wins) that 2 of the best teams ever existed this season.
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Jan-12-18 09:33 AM
he just fits this format. he identifies flat out real-life bums and they PRODUCE in the format. i'm not putting WCS on my team. hell no. you know how will? ernie. i see them 8,7,2blk in 26 min games and say "UGH!"...ern see it and poplocks.
he's got solid foresight and can identify breakout seasons.
he's patient as hell. (somebody have 5 straight bad games for me, THEY GONE).
*shrug*
what can ya do?
bow
2637457, He got a solid case...but everyone has their method
Posted by auragin_boi, Fri Jan-12-18 11:08 AM
I was looking at it.
I've had the best record 3 out of 12 seasons. Ern has the same, Theo had the best record 4 times out of 12 seasons, Frank once, Boogs once.
Boogs has been to the finals 4 times (never won though)
Theo with all that reg season success only has 1 title
I was the first to win multiple titles. Won 2 out of the 3 times I had the best record. Got to the conference finals from the 6th seed once.
Ern did everything I've done (though he did it after me) but in his low seed run, he won a ring.
Last season was the tie breaker. He got #3.
Looking at it:
Ernie -
Career record = 294-308 (10 seasons)
Career win % = 48.8 (14th all time)
Titles = 3
Best rec = 3
Best avg = 1
Winning seasons = 5 (of 10)
Theo -
Career record = 451-275 (12 seasons)
Career win % = 62.1 (1st)
Titles = 1
Best rec = 4
Best avg = 3
Winning seasons = 10 (of 12) and the two losing seasons were 30-32 and 28-30
Boogs -
Career record = 430-296 (12 seasons)
Career win % = 59.2 (3rd)
Titles = 0 (4 finals appearances)
Best rec = 1
Best avg = 1
Winning seasons = 10 (of 12) And he's the highest earner in the league
Commish -
Career record = 376-350 (12 seasons)
Career win % = 51.8 (10th)
Titles = 2
Best rec = 3
Best avg = 3
Winning seasons = 5 (of 12) First to win multiple titles
Shawn -
Career record = 386-340 (12 seasons)
Career win % = 53.2 (8th)
Titles = 1
Best rec = 0
Best avg = 0
Winning seasons = 8 (of 12)
Ern has a case, mostly built off playoff success since he's won 3. But overall, if Theo got another ring or two...
Hell, I was 1 game away from 3 titles myself and all my stats are better than Erns for the most part. I get one more and I got a good case.
2637468, That patience thing is big
Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Fri Jan-12-18 12:02 PM
With me being less active than in past years some guys just stayed on my team that i prospected on but in past may have been flip flopping.
Sabonis is a major one. It almost happened with Beasley's resurgence but I found a way to get him back before anyone else.
2638053, no way lol
Posted by cgonz00cc, Tue Jan-16-18 11:58 AM
i mean an injury might happen and i end up losing early. not trying to jinx that, just for clarification.
but im NEVER quitting barring some unforeseen IRL circumstances
this is the best fantasy game ive ever played. obviously my team is coloring my opinion, but the format is unbelievably cool.
besides i think im well protected from anything too crazy. If i lost any 2 of Drummond, Draymond, Derozan, or Schroder im in trouble.
But otherwise i have flexibility with Dirk at CF, Skal at CF, and RHJ at FG, and the revelation that has been Alex Len. skals minutes havent even beem counting for me and he is on an upward trajectory. its the guard minutes where i could get boned. Derozan and Schroder play a LOT.
If i finish second is Im giving you 1st so you can deal with Cenario first.
He could climb still though...
Either way ive deprioritized this current stretch and been stacking for the playoff run, but then Barea got hurt and I had to re-prioritize that cause minutes were short as hell.
My team is still in great shape but i havent had teh full squad in awhile (and I wont even count Moose).
Things im watching for on your team
Drummond - could get really hot for awhile while he gets his rocks off on this snub.
Watching Len fall off with more Playing Time as the Suns injurioes at Big stack up. Imnjuries also really help Monroe
Nance should trend up if the lakers end up moving randle
Demar leveling off with less assists now that lowry is back
Maybe a Schroeder/ATL tank benching
Dirk - who knows
Weve seen the cool off of RHJ over the last month
Lou should stay the same unless he gets traded
Tarik meh
Skal is trending up for the late season run
2639978, Skal has really put some nice outings together
Posted by cgonz00cc, Thu Jan-25-18 04:10 PM
but i have an over abundance of CF as long as Dirk is playing this way
ive been wanting to move Len for a while for G depth but i dont see a good fit. i could be talked into Skal too but i dont see equal value happening.
