very strange game last night in palo alto for anyone who watched it. washington didn't bother coming out for the 2nd half. that should wrap things up for the PAC's playoff hopes.

arguably the biggest game for the Canes since we got robbed for the title in the 03 Fiesta Bowl
2629885, sounds about right for a team 0-12 for *division* championships

2629873, Browning was gotawful last night.

him trying to run for a first down on 4th and 21 was a fitting final offensive play.
2629897, I can't wait for the Browning era to be over.
Posted by PROMO, Sat Nov-11-17 05:43 PM
I mean, my brain says give him credit because he HAS be doing something. We made the Playoff last year and we're having a solid year, all things considered, this year. He's about to break the school record for TDs

That said, my eyeballs say that he has regressed after about halfway through last year. Jonathan Smith, our bum-ass OC, certainly doesn't help. But shit, even the announcers were calling out Browning last night. Like, ALL he does is roll right...that's barely an exaggeration. Like, three or four times last night the announcers called out that Browning had a dude wide open but that Browning had already fled right so he had no idea. Browning's success HAS be a function of good WRs and RBs and a good line.

Man, bring on Jacob Sirmon...and fire Jonathan Smith.
2629899, not bad enough to bench, not good enough to prevent last night.
Posted by will_5198, Sat Nov-11-17 05:53 PM
obviously he's had a great career, accomplishment wise, but you know that every five games he's going to put up an unbelievable stinker.

only a junior, too. interesting spot for Peterson next spring as to what happens.

how the hell did these two teams play the way that they did last week
2629876, No worries. The best coach in the B1G will make adjustments at halftime

2629880, what happened to damario mccall? he showed alot of promise

2629884, he's been battling a groin/abdominal injury
Posted by 3xKrazy, Sat Nov-11-17 02:06 PM
i hope he can get a medical redshirt

we could definitely use him on kickoff and punt returns
2629878, I feel like refs throw the flag on targeting calls largely based on

2630043, our line is...young
Posted by bshelly, Mon Nov-13-17 12:39 PM
honestly, i want to call them trash, but they really are all freshmen and sophomores, so i'll be a little patient. but, yeah, if we had an average offensive line we'd be undefeated and saquon would have 1500 yards already.
2630073, isn't this the same plea copping everyone did for hackenberg?

Every year with this shit. Get my hopes up and then they fail to show up in a big game.
2629925, they didn't fail to show up.. Miami is better..

2629970, yes they did. miami hasnt done that to anyone all year.
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Nov-12-17 01:00 PM
they needed a huge break to beat FSU and thry needed a monsoon and a fucking MIRACLE to beat Georgia Tech at home.

clemson is gonna run miami off the field.
2630012, No
Posted by Sofian_Hadi, Sun Nov-12-17 08:06 PM
If you've seen Notre Dame or Miami play this year you know that game wasnt normal. Please.
2629942, Canes back, beautiful thing

Missouri 50
Tennessee 17

Vols are winless in SEC play. in fact, Butch is winless versus the entire conference right now.

Tennessee's last game against each SEC team:

Alabama - L 45-7
Arkansas - L 24-20
Auburn - L 55-23
Florida - L 26-20
Georgia - L 41-0
Kentucky - L 29-26
LSU - L 38-7
Mizzou - L 50-17
Miss State - L 41-31
Ole Miss - L 34-3
SCar - L 15-9
Texas A&M - L 45-38
Vandy - L 45-34

0-13
2630018, The same Mizzou got destroyed by Purdue earlier in the year
Posted by DeepAztheRoot, Mon Nov-13-17 03:50 AM
UT-Knoxville has company in Mike Riley and Nebraska who gave up 54 points to a Sub #110 level offense in Minnesota which is likely more embarassing than 76 points to Kansas or 70 points to Texas Tech, as they were actually good teams.

Players have quit on Riley and Saquon Barkley up next week.

Wonder where Currie looks first? I don't believe the Gruden rumors.

I am fully convinced that Florida and Nebraska will try to take the coach the other one doesn't get with Frost and Kelly.
2629950, hell of a win by Oklahoma
Posted by will_5198, Sun Nov-12-17 12:14 AM
likely they'll have to beat TCU again though, this time in JerryWorld.

OU wins that game and Mayfield basically clinches the Heisman.
2629955, Helluva day for Mark Richt lol
Posted by ThaTruth, Sun Nov-12-17 01:06 AM
2629959, damn, we might be in a bowl game...
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Nov-12-17 03:53 AM
the mere thought seemed laughable during that 5 game string of L's we took at the start of the season. Young Drizzy leads the nation in TD passes.
2630011, Yeah, I can't believe it either.
Posted by obsidianchrysalis, Sun Nov-12-17 07:58 PM
I read somewhere that if we win out, which could realistically happen, we'll be one of 5 schools in the Power 5 era. We'd also be a handful of teams to start 1-5 and go bowling.

Drew has elevated his game. He had four TD's but he could have had another two. I half wonder if he'll come out after the year but he still has some room to grow and would only raise his standing in the '19 draft.
2630015, This is the article that the above post references.

2630046, I'll be honest, I thought Barry was a dead man walking...
Posted by Dstl1, Mon Nov-13-17 01:31 PM
the team wasn't playing with any urgency and he seemingly fucked up the one good thing we always had...defense. Since his mini-rant after the Auburn game, though...it looks like everything he said there is coming to fruition. Only thing I didn't like in that presser was that he kept saying this was a "turnaround". This summer, he was telling anyone who would listen that this team was going to be playing for a bowl game.

2629973, it's the only right way to finish out this season
Posted by will_5198, Sun Nov-12-17 01:14 PM
gunning for 8 losses for the first time in program history
2629978, i actually still think Hoke has some good qualities
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Nov-12-17 01:36 PM
he coaches the hell out of his position group, and knows how to fall back as a HC off of an elite D-Coordinator

but he knows nothing about offense, and to make it worse, values outdated player archetypes at offensive skill positions

qualitatively the best choice given what they have, and im sure he isnt going to be managing recruiting or scheme, AND there is no Dave Brandon, so theres no further embarassment this year at least.
2630022, Well, the DL has been shit this year, so....
Posted by Frank Mackey, Mon Nov-13-17 08:28 AM
Should have rewarded the RB coach with interim role. His group is the only one that has looked coached up all year.
2630023, its not a reward tho
Posted by cgonz00cc, Mon Nov-13-17 09:28 AM
its "manage the next 6 weeks of compliance, adminstration, academics, blahblahblah"

Hoke has done that much at least in the past
2629993, *J.K. Dobbins puts on his Zeke Elliott thinking cap*
Posted by will_5198, Sun Nov-12-17 04:35 PM
"It seems like the committee doesn't like us this year, so I don't know," Dobbins said after the Michigan State game. "We lose one game and we get bumped all the way back. Clemson's back in the top four and they lost to Syracuse."
