2635968, McCloughan's record before and during DC speaks for itself. Posted by smutsboy, Tue Jan-02-18 04:45 PM
In DC, he more than any other single person is responsible for maybe the single most important development in the franchise since Joe Gibbs unretired: actually building a goddamn offensive line. In two years he rounded out one of the best young OLs in the league.
>2014, Bruce Allen as GM: >(no first) >2- Trent Murphy >3- Morgan Moses >4 - Bashaud Breeland
Good draft.
> >2015, Scot McLoughan as GM: >1 - Brandon Scherff >2 - Preston Smith >3 - Matt Jones >4 - Jamison Crowder
Also UDFA Quinton Dunbar
Very, very good draft, even with Smith looking mediocre. The Scherff pick was roundly criticized for taking a guard that high, now he's one of the best guards in the league and 2nd best OL on the team.
> >2016, Scot Mcloughan as GM: >1 - Josh Doctson >2 - Sua Cravens >3 - Kendall Fuller >4 - Matt Ioannidis
Plus Rob Kelly as a UDFA is good value.
Both Cravens and Doctson have had injury problems, but Doctson showed some great talent this year and Cravens had a good rookie year until he got hurt.
If you want to call them busts, that's up to you.
Ionnidis was a strong starter until he got hurt. That's a good 4th round pick.
> >2017, Bruce Allen as GM: >1 - Jonathan Allen >2 - Ryan Anderson >3 - Fabian Moreau >4 - Samaje Perine
McCloughan was fired like 7 weeks before the draft. We can be pretty sure that Allen didn't start the Redskins draft planning from scratch. Or if he did, he's stupider than I thought.
Either way, there's only one player of note here so far, he was kind of a gimmie pick when he fell to the Skins.
Perine looks replacement level. Allen and Moreau didn't contribute much this year so they're unknowns.
