No, I don't know how all of that works, but smart NBA people have said it's possible. Make it so.

He can assemble the best team he wants in LA and they'd still have their hands full in the WCF. The absolute WORST he could do staying in the East is getting swept in the Finals. I don't get it.

Cavs front office were largely Griffin's peoples, loyal only to him, nobody wants to deal with crazy ass Gilbert directly. So new GM will have to bring his own peoples and that will take time. Something that Cavs don't have. I guess the word has been out (about LeBron's leaving) and that's why PG told the Pacers he's out too. They are gonna team up somewhere, probably LA. The Clippers are on it too, that's why they hired Jerry West.
