He is going to command a lot of money and they need it to lock up other guys, fill some holes by some guys aging, etc. It's strange to say but I think they could put the $11M or $12M to much better use, just not in a single player. The only way I think Yzerman re-signs him is if he doesn't test the market, and if he were going that route, why didn't he already sign? He will end up the highest-paid player per year in the league, I am sure.

I thought the Islanders overachieved winning in the first round. Even though it was a six-game series, it could have gone either way. If you played it five times, the Panthers would have probably won three. Good showing for them, let's hope this new ownership is serious.
