2488475, Justise For All Posted by Basaglia, Thu Oct-29-15 08:53 AM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QpllI4oFR4
^^^^nothing else matters
kid is the rare ultra-athletic cerebro wing player. i have no idea why his measurements and unfinished jumper scared off so many GMs. maybe MKG not becoming a superstar affected how people viewed his ceiling, but maybe names like Kawhi and Artest shoulda been at the forefront of their thoughts instead. i dunno. whatever.
i know mika dumbass was prolly sitting somewhere wondering what the hell he was thinking. some damn kaminsky. mika could scodabawl but he can't draft for shit.

I'm glad Justise went where he did, because it's the perfect fit for *him.* And several teams above him will regret passing on him. He's a special player.

2490795, You want no parts of Giannis Posted by Orbit_Established, Wed Nov-04-15 12:54 AM
Stay away from positioning anyone opposite him in an agenda war
It's a losing battle
Plus he about to make Carmelo 0.5 look like Carmelo 0.75, so you should be on team Giannis

K said Jabari is Carmelo. Not me.
We all agree that he ain't that good, so I'm just trying to maximize your agenda by pointing out that Giannis will allow Jabari to play no defense and endlessly chuck, which will be good for his numbers.

2490688, At least we know Ba's government now Posted by ShawndmeSlanted, Tue Nov-03-15 09:19 PM
LMAO yo Ba you gotta admit this is the cysiest non-onion article ever written in the history of sportskind.
http://www.nba.com/heat/newsrecap/he-follows click the link so you get all the animated gifs of Winslow not reacting LOL
here are the choice quotes
OMG he got scored on but he stayed so stoic. BAHAHAHAHHA
It’s the sort of call that can derail many rookies. They’ll feel like an established player is getting the benefit of the whistle, and they’ll react. It might be a visceral, emotional reaction. It might lead to gabbing at the officials, or blaming a teammate. More often than not, it leads to further mistakes.
But Winslow? Nothing.
What seems to separate Winslow from the pack is his mind, his unwavering stoicism on the defensive end and the fact that he actually cares.
“Whether it was in High-School, with Team USA, Duke, I always just took defense personally,” Winslow said. “There was never one person that showed me how to play defense. I think everyone can play defense, it’s about really wanting to. Some guys are more athletic of course, but you have to lock in and want to do it. Not everyone wants to do that.”
“Guys will make tough shots, guys are going to miss open shots or miss hard shots,” Winslow said. “You just got to stay even-keeled.”
And when Winslow was chasing Harden around screens a forcing him into tough, contested misses, he had the exact same reaction.
“LeBron was scoring on me, wasn’t really scoring on me, but if you look at my facial expressions on both those guys, it never really changed,” Winslow said. “Same facial expression when LeBron was scoring, the same when James was missing shots.”
OMG he stayed on the floor vs a jumpshooter!!!!
“They’re fakes, so there’s no point in leaving the ground,” Winslow said. “You just have to stay disciplined. I go for fakes a lot, but it helps when you have a guy like Dwyane in practice. You can get used to fakes from there. Just try to stay down and be the second one off the floor.”
There’s something spooky about that. Winslow isn’t on the court playing with manic energy, hopping around and waving his hands like crazy. He’s just there, waiting, expressionless. Score on him? He’s there. Miss your shot? He’s there. Silent, steady and ready, like a horror villain always walking towards his prey. The basketball version of It Follows.
AHAHHAHAHAHAH “He looks like that. That’s his mad face, same as his happy face, I guess,” Bosh said.

2585362, no one cares about him. Posted by Basaglia, Fri Dec-30-16 09:54 AM
|
2585303, he is 75-204 in FGs this year. 7-35 from 3. Posted by HecticHavoc, Thu Dec-29-16 10:26 PM
probably the worst offensive top 10 drafted player in the history of the NBA
|
2585305, He is 20 years old. Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Dec-29-16 10:38 PM
Yes, he is presently a bad shooter. Scoring .9 points per shot. That's bad.
Though it's worth noting that Mario Hezonja, from the same draft, taken 3 spots above Winslow, is currently doing .87 points per shot. Also bad. (Especially since his rep coming into the draft was as a shooter.)
But Winslow is 20 and Hezonja is 21. I'm not convinced either will be the worst ever at anything. Austin Rivers was called the worst player in the NBA by plenty because he couldn't shoot at age 19/20, and now, at age 24, he shoots over 40% from 3. *shrug*
|
2585312, if you're going to hide behind his age, he should pass more w that shitty shot Posted by HecticHavoc, Thu Dec-29-16 10:45 PM
aint nothing fixing that broke ass form
|
2585318, he does pass a lot...who making shots for them? Posted by Basaglia, Thu Dec-29-16 10:56 PM
only so many lobs to whiteside he can throw.
|
2585334, He shot over 40% from 3 in college. Posted by Frank Longo, Thu Dec-29-16 11:42 PM
And it's not like he rarely shot.
Shit is not good now... but the potential is there, you can see it in how he shot at Duke. It's not like he's *never* shot the ball well-- I loved watching him shoot at Duke.
And it's not "hiding behind his age." I feel like this entire board shits far too early on young players before seeing what they can be. If he's still shooting like this ages 21, 22, then I'll be right there with you.
|
2585344, Maybe he should re-enroll. Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Fri Dec-30-16 08:41 AM
|
2585356, That's gotta hurt, Frank. Posted by Numba_33, Fri Dec-30-16 09:38 AM
You set him up so perfectly for that one.
|
2585380, Nah, this pro shit is between him and Ba. Posted by Frank Longo, Fri Dec-30-16 11:14 AM
I want my dudes to succeed, but end of the day, Justise is a champion. So is Singler. Nothing that happens to them next level will really change how I look at them.
I just think all of these posts that paint young players as busts are pointless. All of them, no matter the team. I've harped on this for years now. When a kid enters the league at 19 or 20, you won't know for a couple of years just who they're going to be. Some are more raw than others. But I refuse to call a kid who can't yet drink a bust.

2585382, Wasn't he supposed to be more nba ready than porzingis. Posted by Cenario, Fri Dec-30-16 11:16 AM
was better equipped to help the knicks win now?
|
2585386, that's what was said. Posted by Basaglia, Fri Dec-30-16 11:21 AM
|
2585394, I'd never seen Porzingis play. Posted by Frank Longo, Fri Dec-30-16 11:41 AM
But yes, I thought Justise's shooting would be better than it is today.
I think his defense, positional rebounding, etc are all strong for his age, for the record. But the shot is very obviously worse than it was in college and needs correction.
|
2585401, okay cool...fair. Posted by Cenario, Fri Dec-30-16 12:15 PM
|
2585403, doesnt find a way to do much on offense Posted by ConcreteCharlie, Fri Dec-30-16 12:17 PM
as far as dat zingis, obviously no one had seen him much but the little that was out there showed a very promising player. anybody bashing him was just euro bashing, thinking about nikoali tskitishivilleicicicicic or someone.
|
2585307, Yeah Pat fucked up with that one. Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Thu Dec-29-16 10:40 PM

2585326, him and Singler are both shooting 36% Posted by HecticHavoc, Thu Dec-29-16 11:13 PM
it is hilarious seeing who is shooting better and being more efficient than the above mentioned SFs.

i can use this.
a 20 year-old SF with 11/4/5 averages and plus-defending can be "sorry" because of poor shooting.
as usual, y'all get mad enough to give me an opening.
this will be used on simmons, by the way.
and i'll be the problem.

2585368, Lmao...when your guy has nothing to hang his hat on, Yes it matters. Posted by TheRealBillyOcean, Fri Dec-30-16 10:08 AM

And don't get mad when I cut and paste the same arguments for that bust Brandon Ingram.

killed.
every team from 4 thru 9 did.
i remember that shit vividly. i knew that was a cyse from day 1.
and i like justise.
|
2585409, right, on the boards and off people didn't want to take the chance Posted by Cenario, Fri Dec-30-16 12:41 PM
on waiting on porzingis to develop bc winslow was so supposed to be nba ready right now.
Hell, porzingis got booed vociferously at the draft in ny.
Little kids were crying their eyes out.
|
2585427, Shit, they got killed for taking him PERIOD, lol. Posted by Frank Longo, Fri Dec-30-16 02:09 PM
I still remember those boos. One of the all-time great draft boos.
But yeah, at the time, Winslow was the hotter pick-- but shit, I think if they'd taken any of the next couple non-Euros selected, they wouldn't have heard boos like that. Too many flashbacks to tall goofy named melanin-free Euro busts happening in that room that day.
|
2585433, yep i was scared of that pick....but at the same time, i heard scouts Posted by Cenario, Fri Dec-30-16 02:30 PM
saying that he would be best player in 5 years out of that draft...it just took time. So i was okay with the pick, but yeah i was scared he wouldn't fit in ny.
but once i heard this interview...i was geeked.
