yeah, free agency is a horrible way to build a team from the
perspective of a team that doesn't get any free agents signed.
I'm not talking about big names. You get those
infrequently...but I'm talking about affordable signees who
can play and contribute to your team making the playoffs.
Getting players to fit a profile or a program..that is if you
have a program or a profile.

tried

here

the

uh...ain't nobody talking about Houston..you brining them
up....

the Rockets put a plan together to get players that will help
them make the playoffs...and that's what they did. I will say
I appreciate them cutting Tarik Black so they could sign Josh
Smith.

n more laughable is this whole
>"HAHAHAHA YOU CAN'T SIGN FREE AGENTS" schtick
when the Lakers
>are wining and dining every guy on the market and only to
have
>Melo, Aldridge, et al spray fart in Mitch Kupchak's prime
rib

insanity,

result.

"OK" for a long time

bit

>less aggressive mindset.

We pursue big name free agents because we can. Because they
have an interest. But I'll take the Bass signing....I'll take
the Lou Williams signing...I'll take signing Upshaw
undrafted....I'll take getting Tarik Black off of
waivers....I'll even take signing Jabari Brown and Dwight
Buycks.... Nick Young's signing wasn't bad, because either
he'll contribute or he has some trade value.... signing guys
that didn't lock us in like hill, davis, wes, price helped us
easily upgrade and replace them in 1 offseason

but lets talk about Melo and Dwight...

Are the Lakers better off right today with or without Carmelo
locked in to a long term contract??

Are the Lakers better of right today either having Dwight
Howard locked in to a max deal for years to come, OR having
Roy Hibbert being in the last year of his contract right
today???

as much as people tried to clown the Lakers for missing out on
those guys, in both cases right today they are better off if
they had signed either one.

That's what I'm saying...

We're not in the same boat...

We're in the room with the top free agents, and when we don't
get them..we still end up in an advantageous spot moving
forward...

THAT is what you call a strategy...and a process....

that.

You need to tell B. Shelly and Frank that shit...lol. That
was more directed at them...

Frank made claims about Okafor that basically said he was
going to do things coming in that only Moses and Shaq did.
That debate between he and I is still around here somewhere.
And B just said that after 2 summer league games it's
"obvious" Okafor is better than Russell...

so like I said, go talk to ya boys ...
