2402686, Pro Bowl rosters announced

No Antonio Gates??? Blasphemy...

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/12/23/7443209/pro-bowl-rosters-nfl-2015

Last year, the NFL did away with the AFC vs. NFC format and began using "captains" to oversee a fantasy draft to fill out the teams. In 2014, Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders were the honorary captains, with this year's choices being Hall of Fame receivers Michael Irvin and Cris Carter. Also, the two offensive and defensive players with the most votes will become captains, per NFL.com. The teams will be chosen on Jan. 21 in primetime on NFL Network.

As is usually the case, many of the players selected to the Pro Bowl will not end up in the game. Those on either the AFC or NFC conference champions will instead be occupied with Super Bowl preparations while many others will pass due to "injuries." They will be replaced by the Pro Bowl alternates.

Loved watching him tear it up at Pitt. Didn't watch a lot of St.Louis this year, but tried to read about how he was doing throughout the season and was excited to see him playing so well in the pros.
2402791, dude is a stud

2402793, Willie Young?

2402798, Nick Mangold? Really?

There aren't other centers better than him?
2402846, Fletcher Cox was absolutely robbed. He's easily one of the most feared

players in the game - regardless of position. He's a classic example of a dominant player that goes unnoticed bc of his name or lack of gawdy numbers. That, and well, the general public doesn't understand the game too well. He's a 3-4 DE who's primary responsibility to clog the lanes and apply pressure on the QB. You don't get the opportunity to rack up stats and tackles when you are constantly taking on double teams and re-routing ball carriers. He's been an absolute force all year and is more than deserving of being a pro-bowler.

Crazy how Jason Kelce (center for the Eagles) made the pro bowl in what I would consider a very mediocre season AND while missing a month of football.

Also, Mychal Kendricks got robbed. Barring injuries, he will definitely get in next year.

J-Mac was in a tight spot. He should have gotten the nod over Calvin Johnson and AJ Green since both guys missed time and didn't produce at the same level that J-Mac did. Neither one had to deal with their back up QB throwing to them for half the season as well. Before Foles got injured, J-Mac was on pace for a 1600/15+TD season.

Other than those few gripes...Eh, I guess pretty decent list.
2403256, Yup. Comical Fletch isn't on that list

Just ridiculous
2403286, cosign on Cox and Maclin
Posted by southphillyman, Thu Dec-25-14 11:48 PM
i expected maclin to get overlooked but i'm surprised Cox got no love
literally every eagles game they point out how dude is one of the best linemen despite the lack of numbers
2402848, Ridiculous that Andrew Whitworth wasn't selected
Posted by THRILLHOUSE, Wed Dec-24-14 11:47 AM
He has given up 0 sacks this year and even more impressively only allowed 9 QB pressures (gave up 0 pressures in 8 games this season). Far and away the best offensive tackle in the league this season.

Pacman probably should have been in over Hester for KR/PR.

AJ Green shouldn't have gotten in this year.
2402874, Whit should be a perennial pro bowler
Posted by MaxPtah, Wed Dec-24-14 12:37 PM
since '07 he's been the best tackle in the league, far better than Joe Thomas and anyone else. I think he had a better year last year though because of the switch to guard and still played well. Hate that he constantly gets over looked.

Pacman didn't make it because he splits with Tate (when are we gonna get rid of him?) and Zeitler got snubbed as well.

I think that four game stretch where Green went bananas is the reason he got in.
2402892, same thing happened to Willie Anderson
Posted by THRILLHOUSE, Wed Dec-24-14 01:01 PM
Willie eventually got in 4 Pro Bowls, but should have been selected earlier in his career as well.

Yeah, the combo of those 4 games and his name recognition is why Green got in.

Brandon Tate must have compromising pictures of Marvin Lewis. Only reason I could think of as to why he is still on the team.
2403245, Lol @mike iupati
