At the same stage of his career as Russy, Baron in 2003-4 was basically the MVP of the league before he picked up a debilitating back injury midseason & lost his mojo. People also forget that he went toe-to-toe w/ T-Mac & beat the Magic w/o Mashburn in the 2002 postseason. When he was focused & healthy there was nobody that could check him as everyone witnessed in 2007.
