Buy a good solid beard brush. Brush it several times a day but keep in mind the beard is gonna do what it does. Don't try to force it if it.
Also, don't trim it too soon. Let it get a good solid foundation before you do anything. This doesn't include keeping it edged up, you don't want to go around looking like Grady from Sanford and Son.
You will need a solid beard butter or balm as well as a beard oil. I only use oil on weekends to keep this skin under the beard from getting dry. You don't want beard dandruff. When selecting a balm or butter, get one that does not contain silicon.
