2237211, LET IT BE KNOWN: ALL SAM BRADFORD STOCK IS MINE NOW!!!
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Sep-27-13 12:41 PM

y'all falling over yourselves to get in your two cents again without holding true to your own convictions.

facts:

he has no running back and that o-line, while improved, was terrible last night against a very good defense that was hellbent on getting a W.

receiving corps is young and dumb and therefore awful.

playcalling is awful.

bradford will still manage to have a decent 3500 yd. 20 TD season with garbage weapons, as he does when healthy.

so, once tavon and givens get up to speed and that line gets even better, don't come tryna be friends.
2237213, I'm waiting on Tavon to step it up - he's looking very pedestrian
Posted by vee-lover, Fri Sep-27-13 12:47 PM
so far...
2237278, Tavon Played His 4th Game. Bradford's in his 4th YEAR
Posted by RexLongfellow, Fri Sep-27-13 02:00 PM
Yet TAVON's gotta step up to help his QB?
Come on
2237359, I'm not blaming him for St. Louis' woes, I'm just saying he came in
Posted by vee-lover, Fri Sep-27-13 04:05 PM
the season w/a lot of hype along w/an impressive combine...

I'm just waiting to see more
2237417, I Agree Somewhat With That
Posted by RexLongfellow, Fri Sep-27-13 07:11 PM
Especially since he was the 1st WR taken, yet we've seen more flashes from cats like Hopkins and Thompkins at times

But Bradford was the #1 overall pick, and has YET to play like one. Every time he's questioned as to why there's some sort of excuse
2237215, Tannehill better
Posted by LBs Finest, Fri Sep-27-13 12:50 PM

2237218, so far OE, Promo, and Smutsboy are on record saying he's shitty

2237253, nah. I said I'm glad he's not my QB
Posted by smutsboy, Fri Sep-27-13 01:38 PM
his ceiling looks to be average at best to me.

Posted by COOLEHMAGAZINE, Fri Sep-27-13 12:57 PM
Anyone can put up those passing stats in the NFL today. Anyone.

That said, he has a terrible OC, the running game is abysmal and the line has problems. He is surely better than he looked last night.

I don't care though because I can't fuck with QB's who cant/wont throw the ball downfield.
2237234, cool. don't say anything good about him when that team improves

2237410, RE: cool. don't say anything good about him when that team improves

There is little chance of that. Even if the Rams get better, I don't root for noodle armed QBs.

2237241, Aside from being hyperbolic-ally wrong, Griff would be a cripple by now

playing behind that line on turf. This old chestnut of a dumb argument about the Rams cutting Bradford and swallowing $50M in guaranteed/already paid money to switch things up again by taking Griff is was and will always be funny.
2237275, they obviously would have traded him

Posted by Basaglia, Fri Sep-27-13 01:15 PM
if so, i can't help you improve your reasoning skills.
2237233, all the excuses you are using have doomed many a young qb, he next
Posted by rjc27, Fri Sep-27-13 01:13 PM
Bradford has been what he's been his whole career... he STILL doesn't have an o-line and Austin and Givens are there NOW and he can't get them the ball, they paid Jared Cook mad money, good week 1, now sam can't get that big target the rock. These things won't change this year, so he gets ANOTHER year next year? Many QB's have been doomed by a franchise who did not provide them with an oline/running game/good wr's, etc. Trent Edward, Chad Henne, David Carr, Mark Sanchez the past few years, etc

Laurent Robinson left young Sam and balled with Romo, Danario left young Sam and balled with Rivers last year.

Not to mention he's in a division with the best D in the NFL (probably will be for the next 3 years min) and the banged up defense that shit on him last night isn't going anywhere either.

This is a buy low opportunity so you really can't lose, but Sam Bradford will NEVER win an NFL playoff game, shit he'll never play in one, and if you don't do that as a QB, especially a 1st pick you are a mega B U S T

>he has no running back and that o-line, while improved, was

if Bradford isn't gonna wait for it to develop due to his happy feet at least put some air under it to let the receiver go get it

that was probably exactly how it was drawn up.

2237272, n Bradford throws it as it's like some sort of deep out to Usain Bolt

@rob_starrk
2237274, if he makes a hard cut and is 2 yards to the sideline
Posted by veritas, Fri Sep-27-13 01:57 PM
it hits him in his face and he walks in for a touchdown.

but he halfassed the route and made everybody look like an asshole.
2237305, exactly...and he had the nerve to throw up his hand like it was a go
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Sep-27-13 02:22 PM
disgusting
2237273, lol
Posted by smutsboy, Fri Sep-27-13 01:56 PM
there are different routes in that situation, one is flatter towards the sideline, the other is deeper towards that wide open space in the endzone.

It's not like the dude ran an out route instead of a crossing pattern.

The bottom line is that he didn't hit a wide open WR for a TD.

Any interpretation is just guesswork on your part.

Oh, he also had a terrible game.
2237276, well this is brilliant analysis
Posted by veritas, Fri Sep-27-13 01:59 PM
>It's not like the dude ran an out route instead of a crossing
>pattern.

like it takes a receiver running the complete wrong play instead of just not running the route as it's drawn up to make a pass play miss.

doctoral candidate level work here.
2237280, you seem mad
Posted by smutsboy, Fri Sep-27-13 02:02 PM
your boy had a shitty game and missed a comically open WR.

I think that about covers it.
2237289, you seem daft
Posted by veritas, Fri Sep-27-13 02:07 PM
he definitely had a shitty game, but your .gif is a poor example of that fact, and illustrates the incompetence he's working with.

and your inability to watch football and understand what's happening, apparently.
2237855, you are entirely wrong about all of this
Posted by cgonz00cc, Sun Sep-29-13 01:18 PM
bradford threw to the open spot in the defense, where a well-run route would have gone

that guy is looking to catch a seam over his outside shoulder, which...no

a real cut has him scoring a touchdown, that was just fuckin lazy
2237296, It was accurate to a spot where actual space was
Posted by B9, Fri Sep-27-13 02:14 PM
Not where Pettis was running.
2237304, he ran a bad route...period.
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Sep-27-13 02:21 PM
2237286, this is funny.
Posted by veritas, Fri Sep-27-13 02:06 PM
this .gif actually illustrates the bullshit bradford has to deal with to try to have some success.

half his offensive line is getting absolutely manhandled 1 on 1, while his receiver breaks off his route and calls for the ball instead of making his cut and running his route.

but i'm just copping pleas so i keep friendly at the alumni breakfasts.
2237302, that's a bad route...he flatened out and raised his hand like a moron
Posted by Basaglia, Fri Sep-27-13 02:20 PM
2237271, Sanchez AND Freeman Are Better
Posted by RexLongfellow, Fri Sep-27-13 01:55 PM
He hasn't done anything since being the #1 pick
He's HAD a great RB in SJax...and he's had a comparable line with comparable weapons as Sanchez

Zac Stacy - I got this nigga too

Tavon - Austin - hasn't done much yet, but he's young
Chris Givens - He's an okay field stretcher
Brian Quick - Good Lord
Jared Cook - blew his load early

2237291, they didn't exactly take him over Josh Gordon, totally different draft

Posted by LBs Finest, Fri Sep-27-13 02:17 PM
his former OC Pat Shurmer and the Browns had two 1st round picks in 2012, they probably would've coughed up one of them for Bradford. if it was the 4th overall pick, Rams coulda paired RG3 with Morris Claiborne...if they gave them the 22nd pick they coulda got some OL help like David Decastro or Riley Reiff, or an impact defender like Harrison Smith.

2237809, I can tell a lot of yall are getting your info from ESPN....
Posted by Dstl1, Sun Sep-29-13 10:21 AM
the fact is, the Rams aint shit. They just aren't. These new weapons are not really weapons at all. Sam has everything stacked against him. He's never had a decent OC, maybe save for his first season under Pat Shurmur...and they ran him out of town because his play calling was too "vanilla". Forget about the fact that Sam was at his best under Pat. He's got an O-line that literally gets beat up one on one nearly every play, NO running game (these backs are a collective joke...good thing they got rid of Jackson), receivers who cant run proper routes and/or get separation....and when they do get a pass thrown their way...they usually drop it and an OC who consistently ran his 200lb running back straight up the gut into the line for 1 to 2 yard gains all night. They won't/can't run plays to his strengths. He and Givens have actually developed some chemistry and that's the one shining light. Remember when Brian Quick was the next T.O.??? Yeah...me neither. Pettis? FOH. Cook got cised like shit when they got him in the off-season. I didn't hear about anyone blowing up his phone to get him before that. Tayvon Austin was drafted 8th overall??? He's child-like in size and they only have one play for him!!! 8th overall!!! Should have got Lacey and had a fucking running game. As much as this town shits on Spags...the team had played EXACTLY the same the last two weeks under Fisher. He was supposed to change the culture, lol. I'm rolling with Sam till the wheels fall off. He's not gonna flourish, though, til he leaves this town.

You can literally say the EXACT same thing about Sanchez. When Sanchez had Thomas Jones for one year, and a effective but waning LT for his second year, he was throwing to Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes. He still won games and was enough to get into a playoff spot and do damage.
Bradford had SJax and Brandon Lloyd. Everyone said Tayvon Austin was a great weapon when he was drafted, and he's only played 4 games. He had Danario Alexander (got banged up) and Danny Amendola for a stretch before he got hurt as well. Bottom line is that he's HAD weapons and just couldn't get it done.
His line was shaky, I'll grant that. But nobody gave Sanchez that plea when his line was in transition.

Same with Sanchez...however Sanchez got ROASTED NATIONALLY for regressing. And he's done better under the same garbage OC that Bradford has now. Bradford is the #1 OVERALL, and is dodging national criticism left and right. Dude should be roasted for playing like garbage.
