How about when Trent Dilfer said Smith was the most knowledgeable of the college QB counselors at the Elite 11, knew the playbook inside and out?

The Geno Smith character slander was 100% racism, like, all of it. That it managed to seep into YOUR thinking is pretty sad.
Personally, I think the racism has gotten to him. The Jets are a hickville, country bumpkin fanbase and they already don't like his blackness. He's in a really bad situation. He seems like a really nice kid...he might not have the skin thick enough to stand up to such scrutiny. We'll see.
