Cena is your heel. He's my heel. If you want him to cheat and beat guys with lead pipes and tear children's signs he's not going to do that. He's still far too valuable and marketable to a vital part of the demographic. But he can be the number one heel for another vital part of the demographic albeit in a non-traditional way.
Conversely, Ryback will be the heel for the Pro-Cena contingent of the audience, the 9 year olds and the teenage females. That's ok.
Something to consider; what's more heel than not giving a shit what the fans think? Every heel ever has said "I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU PEOPLE THINK" but when John Cena says it he means it.
