2122375, lol damn. Jets defense compared to say, the Bills Posted by T Reynolds, Wed Jan-30-13 02:53 PM
as far as proportion of D-Line to Secondary
Giants & Saints D is almost evenly split amongst all positions
I'm surprised the Seahawks proportionally spend so much on the front 4 when it's their safeties, corners, and LBs that do so much of the work
Colts spend almost ALL their dough on LBs
as far as offense...
WTF at TB spending so much on their Guards?

2122384, Carl nicks got dat work Posted by IceburgSmurf, Wed Jan-30-13 03:04 PM

2122774, Carroll's scheme is pretty reliant on the d-line Posted by will_5198, Wed Jan-30-13 10:29 PM

they need certain players to use his 4-3 under front. although the disparity is more due to guys being in different stages of their careers: Sherman and Chancellor were cheap fifth rounders, Browner was an undrafted FA who bounced around, and Wagner is a young bargain. I think five of their back seven players are still on their rookie deals, whereas Jason Jones was a FA signing and Red Bryant netted a five-year extension last off-season.

2122785, it def is very much about career stage Posted by rob, Wed Jan-30-13 10:50 PM
they let some decent to good lbs in and replaced them with cheap first day players.
even earl is early.

2122476, *Looks at Vikings QB/secondary* Posted by Marauder21, Wed Jan-30-13 04:08 PM
Yeah, that seems about right. How is Percy Harvin making less than Michael Jenkins?

2123109, oh in terms of labor justice it's COMPLETELY needed Posted by smutsboy, Thu Jan-31-13 12:14 PM
in terms of managing your team assets, it's a huge waste of money.

2122502, There's no way Cleveland spent $46+ mill on offense Posted by Kira, Wed Jan-30-13 04:21 PM

2122930, The 49ers Defense is fuckin impressive. Posted by blueeclipse, Thu Jan-31-13 04:48 AM
This may be the best managed unit and bang for buck money wise of any unit offense or defense in the entire league. I'm so fuckin jealous of this lineup. They have crazy good depth and a GREAT mix of youth and vets. Their linebacking depth alone is insane. ANd this is coming form a Steelers fan. Steelers are looking at having to cut Harrison, Keisel, and probably Polamalu and Ryan Clark next year. Probably wont resign Larry Foote. Ike Taylor getting older. No depth behind hardly any of these guys.

2122935, they've managed to draft so well Posted by Rjcc, Thu Jan-31-13 05:40 AM
and their veteran pickups have been absurdly productive

2122953, their O-Line too. Posted by T Reynolds, Thu Jan-31-13 08:28 AM
Cause they're all young
Not that O-Line dudes get paid too well anyway (well unless you play for the Bucs apparently)

2123072, Free agents are so fucking overpriced it's unreal. Posted by smutsboy, Thu Jan-31-13 11:28 AM
Even midlevel guys are making $2-3M more over similar drafted talent.
|
2123105, nah, draft picks and salary caps skew it Posted by rob, Thu Jan-31-13 12:12 PM
they're not overpriced...they don't make more than they earn for the team...the team budgets are just structured to make multiple free agents bad investments.
