dude. no disrespect but break this down for me please! te'o?

hahaha!
what would you like me to break down?

from what i gather, this pacific islander community is rather close-knit
a subsection of that would be those that've played collegiate or pro football
wtf is happening

yes, not sure what you're referring to tho
are you saying matin should have known?

ah ok, my bad for presuming then
*manti

i have no idea
ok based on what ive been reading, at the very least he was complicit
seems as if his family friend catfished him, he dropped some nuggets in the media before he knew the extent of it, and then the heisman came knocking and he rolled with it hoping the ND/sympathy machine would roll toward a stiffarm trophy

hmm - from what I've gathered from his cousins (Manti and I grew up in the same community), he didn't know the guy that catfished him
and he found out before the ceremony but didn't tell anyone till later
despite lying to his parents and everyone else abt meeting his girlfriend
in person

isn't that questionable though?

it is

lying to your own parents about meeting the girl? plus after a stanford game? how far do we keep the visiting team

well, she supposedly died before the stanford game

but they supposedly met as they "locked eyes" after a stanford game!

i think this is part of the reason i'm so invested ... nevermind that stepfan taylor scored in that 3OT and ND was NOT undefeated this season

hahaha! yeah, he def lied abt any interactions with her. but apparently the convos he had with her were that amazing

so i'm cynical in thinking it was part of a collegiate/NBC/notre dame package to push national media exposure and a heisman?
on the same day as his grandmother too?! that's the part that makes me hope he wasn't in on it because that's just dirty

it sure fits the bill
I mean, part of me thinks he had to know
but I really think he was over his head
thats a lot to deal with at 21/22
right? how does your girlfriend get into a life-threatening car accident in may and you never go see her during your offseason
she apparently told him not to see her

for 4 or 5 months though?

I know... so weird

when does camp start? august or something
yeah

yeah i think he got played but he knew earlier and decided to string it along for that heisman
sympathy votes
nbc loved it too! and you know how invested in the golden dome they are
espn smh

I really hope that wasn't the case but we don't have any evidence refuting that
still so many holes in his story
