Hello

Didn't do one last week because I was wrecked by the flu. This bug is no joke, people, get that shot.

Luis Suarez is an asshole.

So, Saturday we got Harry Bowl, QPR-Spurs. Then Everton versus the high-flying Swans. Most of the EPL games have something to offer, such is the time of year, and if you don't want to watch that, flip over to the soap opera called Real Madrid, who will air all their dirty laundry against somehow last place Osasuna (how Depor isn't last is astounding. They should just quit, mid season).

Then Sunday comes...

United host Liverpool and the Brendan Rodgers Reclamation Project, with the "will he/won't he" being directed at the lineups and not handshakes finally. Two strikers? Liverpool?
On the other side of the ball, Nani is rumored to be getting a start, but maybe just as a shop window sort of thing to show he isn't fat or unfit. As long as he can pass the ball to RVP, don't care.

Then City travel with a light support and light squad to play the Arse for the later game. The City squad picks itself right now via suspensions, injuries and GET THE FUCK OUT OF HEREs (Mario). And with Yaya's imminent departure, this could be their season if they don't get max points.
COME ON YE GUNNERS!

Barca go to hard-done-by Malaga later in the afternoon, poor shits. Flying this high just to be punched in the balls by Platini's goon squad? There's also the other Valencia derby, Betis/Levante.

Italy and France don't offer much this weekend, but Parma/Juve is an old timers sort of match.

Germany are still off, all the clubs in Dubai working on their German tans.

mata and hazard are the best attacking mids in the prem!

period

Hazard is such a beast on the ball, and that shit by him before half was pure class.

Oscar still needs work, but we have to start him because moses is off to the AFCON.

2108826, I think it was PROMO who asked why QPR is so bad this season

2110565, typical win over a second rate side.

.
2111126, Thiago scores for his second consecutive game!
Posted by Hitokiri, Sun Jan-13-13 08:45 PM
And a pretty goal at that. He's looking a lot more confident.

1 goal and 2 assists for Messi.

Fabregas on the score sheet.

Good win over a tough Malaga side.
2111289, Opta says the EPL is 20% faster than it was 5 years ago.
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Mon Jan-14-13 04:05 AM
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/jan/13/liverpool-manchester-united-michael-carrick

Michael Carrick, meanwhile, played with the kind of refinement that must have reminded the watching Roy Hodgson that surely he should have tried to get him back into the England team before, rather than after, Euro 2012.

The number-crunchers at Opta say the Premier League is 20% faster than five years ago. It's fast, frenetic and doesn't let up, and it takes a special player to see the right pass at this level and have the ability, almost every time, to play it with the perfect weight. Carrick, so long an elegant frustration, has taken a long time getting to the stage where he is controlling matches from his position in midfield but what a damning indictment it is of English football that someone of this calibre has started only 16 England games in 12 years.
2111373, And that Scholes was continually overlooked for Stevie Me and El Gordo

Or that Matt Le Tissier only had 8 caps.
2111679, damn that's wild

i know he played for a small club but he's OBVIOUSLY international class.

the three lions got a real problem w/ this superstar complex.
2111615, i'd like to see numbers for other leagues
Posted by hardware, Mon Jan-14-13 03:53 PM
specifically La Liga
2112652, it woulda been fun to see all_stah root for Pep, but he's going to germany
Posted by thejerseytornado, Wed Jan-16-13 11:54 AM
Taking over Bayern Munich after the season. I like it for him as it'll be a top level team without the insanity of the EPL or the barca/madrid rivalry, but at the same time, I'm sad to see a barca legend elsewhere.

2112768, yeah. should be a good fit

2112819, i dunno what makes u say low stress tho
Posted by UncleClimax, Wed Jan-16-13 01:31 PM
the pressure is incredibly high at bayern, anything less than the CL is a failure...i'm sure that's the standard Pep has for himself too, but it's different when u have all these ex-legends (Hoeness, Rumminiegge, Beckenbauer, et al.) talkin shit if u arent perfect. I think it'll be interesting. I could see Gotze moving to Bayern to play for him.
2112886, the bundesliga is just fine. it's actually in a pretty good spot.

ill take the draw

We dominated again, but errors by azp and hazard sent it to a draw. We are still in third, and terry will be back against arsenal.

Luiz' days as a CB are over. We need him in the pivot, and the line just isn't very good with him back there. It's too shaky.

No moses. No mikel for like 2 months...I really hope that does not kill us.

we just need to sign that third striker and get another CB/DM
