For what it's worth, after the first loss, the team was competitive in two games against equal talent. (OKState and California) Texas has played much better than they did against ND, to Strong's credit, but the two recent losses, along with the performance of the offense in the first game, reflects poorly on the coaching staff.

Could he get fired? I dunno. It would seem silly to fire a coach after one mediocre year and one bad year given that he is being asked to rebuild the department. If Mack had left Texas as a Top 10-25 program, the firing would make sense, but Texas hasn't been relevant in at least five years. Letting Strong go now would set the program back at least another two to three years, so unless the new Texas AD can get a really big name, Strong is the best coach available.
