748737, Talk to Me (Danny Philippou & Michael Philippou, 2023) Posted by bwood, Fri Jul-28-23 05:09 AM
The feel bad movie of the summer.
Between this, ROMPER STOMPER, THE PROPOSITION, THE SNOWTOWN MURDERS, and CHOPPER, Australians really love their stomach churning gruesome violence.

749055, Half really great, half a mess Posted by navajo joe, Sat Sep-16-23 11:00 AM
I was so excited for this and had been waiting for it to make it to streaming since I haven't had time for theaters lately.
Roughly half of the movie is excellent/new horror classic-level shit. Not even that it's terribly scary it's just a great central premise so well-executed. Then the other half is every forgettable low-budget horror movie that comes out-level mess. It's honestly not even that bad it's just in contrast to the other half it fares all the worse.
There's some really good stuff in this and they were really creative in working around budgetary restraints. The violence is so simple yet brutally effective. Some great make-up effects too. Unfortunately the film falls apart enough to still be somewhat of a letdown.
The ending though redeems some of it.
